Even Ji Rongxinyue, who is only eleven years old this year, is now too tall to share the cockpit with Ji Xinghe in the same mecha, unless it is custom-made—but the Star Moon Mecha and the Mecha of Divine Punishment don't seem to be designed for double occupancy.
Especially the Star Moon Mecha, its Over Frequency Mode can only be piloted by one person—then, and now too.
The Over Frequency functions of the first and second generations of the Star Moon Mecha include a fail-safe mechanism resembling an escape pod, ejecting anyone who could be onboard like Ji Rongxinyue. Although this mechanism has never been used, it inspired Shen Mu's concept for designing the Final Fortress.
Would such a small child ever appear on the battlefield?
