"Fine, I'll leave," Shin conceded.
"Damn," Melina muttered, pouting with a trace of genuine disappointment.
Shin turned to her, eyes narrowing. "What is with that disappointed look?!"
"I wanted to fight another dragon," Melina replied coldly, lips curling into a wicked smile. "I wanted to see what would happen… if I devoured one."
A shiver ran down Shin's spine. "You're insane," he muttered. "Be warned—next time, I will definitely pay you back for this shame!"
Without waiting for a response, Shin flared his wings, sleek, greenish brown, and shot into the sky, the shockwave from his takeoff knocking dust into the air.
"Melina, how can we just let him go like that? He planned to kill us!" Lopel shouted, furious.
"It's good that he left," Melina said coldly, eyes watching the horizon where Shin had vanished.
"What? Why?" Silver asked, confused.
