Chapter 337 - Book 12: Part 18 – Sovereigns Gather

The figure Ace had sensed was calmly meditating atop a mountain when he felt Ace's divine sense spread over him.

As deities, they were more than capable of sending and receiving high volumes of information via their Godrealms; as such, in the time it took for him to feel and then attack Ace's Godrealm with his soul, he had already understood the situation from Lozarn.

Still, as he slowly got to his feet, the only thing he felt was intrigue and amusement. Although the attack he hit Ace with was far from his most powerful spiritual attack, it was still enough to kill or at least severely injure most ordinary paragons, yet Ace merely shrugged it off as though it was a minor inconvenience.

An excited light flickered in his eyes as he took off at his top speed after his fleeing target.

Ace, on the other hand, could only sigh helplessly as he fled towards his friends at the Stellar River, thinking about the terrifying figure he had just sensed.

It had to be remembered that with the addition of his [Observation], Ace was capable of sensing a lot more than most with his divine sense. When he locked onto that figure, he immediately understood that the man was not only a two-way soul mutate who had become a paragon in both the laws of Darkness and Lightning, but he had also managed to perfectly fuse both laws to create a new and terrifying law.

That man was clearly Muyan, the head emissary of the Chief Sovereign of Darkness. Still, the thing that was most terrifying was that Muyan had four units of Willpower.

It had to be remembered that upon becoming a paragon, one would only have one portion of Willpower; they would then be blessed with another singular unit of Will for every other law they subsequently became a paragon of.

Ace had desperately hoped that Muyan would only be blessed with another singular portion of Will for completely fusing two separate laws. Had that been the case, although it would've been an exceedingly difficult battle, with his Divine Ability, which allowed him to double his own Willpower, and his new and improved [Blazing Radiance Glaive Art], he would've at least stood a chance at defeating the man who was said to be the strongest existence beneath the Sovereigns, but now, he knew for sure, as it currently stood, he stood no chance.

Still, he didn't despair. As long as he got to his friends, he would at least be able to put up a fight.

Leona had already told him that they had met up with Julian, who had not only broken through to the Highgod level in the Edict of Fate but had also gone on to improve the [Constellation Battle Tactics].

According to Julian, there were now two ways to use their crew's [Constellation Battle Tactics]. The first was as they had before, with everyone seeing a significant improvement in power, but the second was all of them channelling their power into one person.

Although that would mean the others wouldn't be able to fight at the same time, it would give Ace the best chance of holding his own against Muyan.

Still, the biggest question was whether or not he'd be able to make it back to them in time.

Right now, not only was Ace hurrying as fast as he could in the direction of the Stellar River, and thanks to his call for help via his bond with Leona, his friends were speeding in his direction as quickly as possible. Still, Muyan was like a bullet as he tore through space in an attempt to catch him, and to make things worse, Ace was being slowed by the constant interference of Balmer and Lozarn.

Although Ace was significantly stronger than both of them, they were still too powerful for him to kill instantly.

Thankfully, Ace had initially been closer to the Stellar River than he was to Muyan's position. Unfortunately, Muyan was much faster than him.

Realising he wasn't going to be able to make it at this rate, he decided to throw caution to the wind.

He had originally wanted to use his Gol Clan's divine ability at the perfect time and hopefully catch Muyan by surprise and potentially kill him in one go, but if he wanted to even survive today's ordeal, he knew he had to use it now.

Whether it was Muyan, Balmer, or Lozarn, all three of their eyes constricted in shock and disbelief as they saw the giant phantom of Ace wearing a crown manifest in the skies behind the fleeing Full God.

Ace's Willpower suddenly doubled, reaching two full units, and at the same time, he also swallowed a drop of fire-type Sovereign's Might. As a result, Ace's already terrifying speed suddenly multiplied.

Balmer and Lozarn kept chasing after Ace, but they were no longer in range to slow Ace down with their ranged attacks.

Muyan, on the other hand, also swallowed a drop of darkness-type Sovereign's Might, allowing his speed to multiply several times more than that of even Ace's; it was as though his previous pace was nothing more than a slow stroll compared to his current speed.

Ace silently cursed as he realised that even after going all out, with Muyan's sudden acceleration, he still wouldn't be able to make it in time; as such, he flung Hemmers – who had already woken up – off his shoulder and told him that his friends were making their way towards them, he told the mountain-man to tell them he needed them to hurry up.

Of course, he had already told Leona that, but he knew Hemmers well enough by now to understand the man was loyal to a fault; Hemmers would never agree to leave him unless he felt he could help more somewhere else.

As Ace guessed, as reluctant as he was to escape on his own, Hemmers hurriedly flew in the direction Ace tossed him, hoping to do what he could to help his new friend.

Ace, on the other hand, calmly turned to face the incoming Muyan. His heart slowed to a controlled crawl, and his eyes glistened with raging battle intent.

He knew he was facing an existence he didn't stand a chance against, but if this was going to be his final battle, he refused to go down without a fight.

At the same time, in the Divine Plane of Light, Amira had just hurriedly left the secret dimension Augusta had made for her to find the Chief Sovereign of Light.

He told him what was happening and basically commanded him to take her to her husband.

When seeing the hesitation on Augusta's face, Amira reminded him that she and Ace were soulmates; if Ace died, she would die as well, but she was also Ace's best chance at defeating him.

As soulmates, using the [Dual Battle Tactics], their power would multiply several times over. Together, not even Muyan would be able to defeat them.

Hearing that, Augusta nodded and took her by the wrist before leading her through Chaotic Space towards the Planar Battlefield.

With Augusta's power, it didn't take long at all to arrive. Unfortunately, there were two people already present who seemed to have already foreseen Augusta's arrival.

Phueus and Wodred, The Chief Sovereigns of Darkness and Destruction, were already there calmly watching the Planar War from Chaotic Space.

When Augusta arrived, the two Chief Sovereigns calmly turned to face him, a playful smile playing on Phueus's face as if Augusta were playing right into his hands.

When Wodred asked what Augusta planned to do, reminding him that Sovereigns were forbidden from directly intervening in the Planar Wars, Augusta indifferently explained that he had no intention of directly getting involved; he was merely dropping off Ace's wife now that she had finished her training.

Neither Phueus nor Wodred had any idea what another mere Full God could hope to achieve against an existence like Muyan, but neither of them was willing to let August have their way.

After seeing Ace erupt with his true power, both Phueus and Wodred were determined to get their hands on the heaven-defying Full God. Phueus to hopefully bring his Viz Clan clone to perfection so he could continue gaining more clones in the future and slowly enhancing his strength, and Wodred so he could open Ace up and figure out how exactly his body worked.

Wodred was just about to speak when five more Sovereigns made an appearance. Gitara, Shinji, Beirut, Bluefire, and Ismarelda all made an appearance together.

Seeing that, a frown appeared on the faces of all three Chief Sovereigns for varying reasons. Phueus because he felt as though things were slowly slipping from his control, Wodred because he felt his authority as the Chief Sovereign of Destruction was being challenged with two of his Intermediate Sovereigns appearing, clearly determined to stand against him, and Augusta because seeing Beirut stirred up some of his more frustrating memories.

Still, as arrogant and wilful as he could be, Augusta knew when and how to prioritise. The most important thing right now was finding a way to get Amira into the Planar Battlefield as soon as possible, and weak as they may be in the grand scheme of things, the presence of Beirut and the other two Lesser Sovereigns of the Yulan Plane would only help his cause, anything and everything else could be handled at a later date.

Just as things began to reach boiling point, two new individuals made an appearance.

Not many people present recognised the Full God being pulled along by fate-type Sovereign power, but there wasn't a soul present who didn't recognise the Sovereign leading the way.

The Chief Sovereign of Fate, Orloff, smiled amiably as he explained that his little disciple's Divine Clone of Fate here had asked him to make sure that his Captain's wife was allowed to enter the Planar Battlefield smoothly.
