Unicorne set sail once again.
The mice seemed to sense the loss of their leader, their morale so low that they drooped their ears and nibbled on each other's tails, forming a line as they climbed up to the deck.
"Mother, stop seeing us off, please go back. The ship is now equipped with a telegraph, and I will send messages regularly to ensure my safety," West said uncomfortably to his mother, who was tugging at his clothes.
Seeing the other crew members on the deck looking over, West felt somewhat embarrassed.
"My son, won't you reconsider taking a job as a postal worker? Getting on a ship is too dangerous," West's mother continued to plead.
"Mother, it's really alright, look, I've been out to sea several times, and I'm still alive and well, aren't I?"
"Besides, after this voyage, we can sell the basement and buy a house that's closer to school, so that my brother and sister won't have to travel so far to school every day."
