Simply put, when you mastered a certain ability or held a particular identity, coupled with ultimate power, you would be outclassed. This process couldn't be controlled, nor could it be defined deceptively.
Take Wenresa, for example. She was a typical 'identity outclassed;' she was outclassed by her identity as a Divine Half-Elf, whereas Yaylimeinoceyatos by her side was a typical 'ability outclassed'... outclassed by the 'Supreme Technique.'
In other words, being outclassed was a transcendent logic, an inherent rule.
And eternal life, supreme power, these were common traits of the outclassed.
