Minato arrived at the hideout of his ANBU squad as he found everyone else already there.
"You finally arrived..." Alpha greeted him as he entered and joined the other members in the middle. He was the only one on duty for the Hokage's security.
"Well... let's get started..." Alpha spoke as everyone listened.
"In one week, there will be a meeting between the villages, we will be sent as escorts, but not for the Hokage. We will be part of the security for the Daimyo," he began, with many raising an eyebrow beneath their masks.
"We will depart in 3 days and will follow in the next days, taking our feudal lord directly to the meeting point," he informed. "So here are some of the conditions, I hope everyone is prepared in 3 days. We will have no missions at this time, just patrolling the area around the village," he informed as everyone nodded and left the place.
Minato headed outside as his two girls approached him. "So... we're off tomorrow, train?" Wind suggested while Minato nodded.
"Yes, that might be good," Minato spoke at last, while Lumem and Valkyrie went to Minato's apartment with the raijin, Wind went to the Hyuga clan.
The next day, they met Kushina, while Tsuna was busy at Konoha's hospital. They trained a bit while Tsuna joined them at night with Minato making dinner for them.
A few days later the village was in a stir as the Hokage made an announcement that he would leave the village to finally negotiate peace, and was going to meet with the 5 Kages and feudal lords.
Then preparations were made as the teams to be sent out of the village, being ANBU squads prepared to protect both the Kage and the feudal lord, were assembled, while teams would be sent to all borders around the country to keep watch over their neighbors, who might expect any action against Konoha.
The Hokage would have two personal guards, who were chosen without any surprises, Orochimaru and Danzo, to accompany him and listen to the negotiation, every Kage had the right to bring such advisors, after all, they acted as counselors besides being powerful ninjas.
Minato met with his team at the north gate, while they were preparing to go directly to the capital, his team was the only one escorting the feudal lord, but it would be enough as Alpha waited for them.
"Well, now that everyone is here... let's head to our goal," Alpha said as he began to move forward while the rest of the team quickly followed.
They did not stop and moved at high speed, much faster than a ninja should, since they were elite ninjas and traveled for 10 straight hours arriving in the capital in the middle of the afternoon as they entered the place unimpeded, reaching the Daimyo's castle the next moment, as they informed the guards, being other ninjas from the village who came to protect the feudal lord on missions issued by the village.
"I will inform him immediately," the new advisor stated, and going to meet the Feudal Lord in his room resting.
"The Leaf ninjas have just arrived, Daimyo-sama..." The man reported as the door opened.
"Finally! I hope you are not lying, you hear?!" The Daimyo did not fail to say these last words directly to the man, after all, he always had suspicions of him, since the last one who betrayed him to those ninjas from other countries, he could no longer trust anyone.
"Yes, my lord. There's no reason to lie about this..." He murmured, but already accustomed to his lord's accusatory look.
"Be that as it may, let's see the ninjas from Konoha," he said as he proceeded to the hall of his palace while 24 ninjas with cloaks and masks bowed to the man.
"We are here to escort you to the Iron Country, Daimyo-sama," Alpha spoke in front of everyone.
The portly man in rich clothing nodded as he scrutinized the leader and then all the other 23 who accompanied him, as if he were looking for something specific. "This is good. But is the boy here?! I demanded that the Hokage send him, otherwise, I wouldn't go to this meeting!" He spoke directly to the leader.
While everyone present raised an eyebrow beneath their masks—except for a few—Valkyrie and Wind automatically looked at Lumen, knowing that the feudal lord was referring to him.
"He has been sent, Daimyo-sama." Alpha responded.
"Great, now where is he?" The Daimyo still searched for Minato.
Alpha looked at him and nodded, as Lumen stood up, removing his mask, after all, he had saved the Daimyo and his family during his first mission, an S-rank one, preventing the ninjas from the lands of earth and sand from taking him out of the country near the eastern border.
"Ah! It's you indeed, I feel safer knowing you are escorting me." He said with a smile spreading across his greasy lips, pleased to have someone competent to protect him and his heir.
"Thank you for your consideration." Minato was formal.
"I recognize your skills, boy. Anyway, I hope that bonus money I gave you was well spent." He spoke, while Minato ignored his slightly surprised colleagues, as most of them were unaware that he had rescued the feudal lord of the country.
"I'm building a house for myself in Konoha, I used your money to buy a large plot of land, and I appreciate it." Minato said, as the Daimyo nodded, satisfied with this.
"Anyway, I will prepare my things to go north, after all, I first needed to see those who would be responsible for my guard, so I am satisfied." He simply spoke, having not even made his preparations to leave while the ninjas could only look on somewhat dazed, but saying nothing, after all, this was the Daimyo of Fire.
While countless pieces of luggage necessary to sustain the luxurious lifestyle the feudal lord was accustomed to were being brought in for numerous people to carry, the ninjas from Konoha frowned as the servants kept bringing more and more luggage.
Minato was approached by another person while he had not yet put his mask back on his face. "You are Minato Namikaze then." Minato looked to the side and saw a teenager looking at him with interest.
"And you are the son and heir of the Daimyo..." Minato murmured, recognizing him even after years, the boy had grown, but was still recognizable. He wore an outfit rich in detail with servants following him all the time to attend to him.
"Of course, my name is Haruto from the powerful Tatsugawa family as you must know. And as my father's heir, it's a pleasure to meet the hero of the Leaf Village in person. You certainly raised your name with so many achievements during the war, my father was impressed as well." He spoke, since he had occasionally picked up information about the ninja who saved him, his father, mother, and sister. He always informed his father about this and had a certain admiration for Minato after what he heard.
"It's a pleasure, and I was just doing my job." Minato spoke.
"I wouldn't say that, but like my father, I will feel safer with you protecting us." He spoke.
Minato nodded, unaware that the Daimyo had wanted Minato as his personal bodyguard during the war, but the Hokage denied his request because Minato was much more needed on the battlefield. The Daimyo only knew of Minato through his son; after all, he didn't care much for the war as long as he was safe and not in a situation like the kidnapping. As long as that was secured, he only communicated with the village to end the conflict while releasing money for the Hokage to continue supplying the front lines.
"Will you also be attending the meeting?" Minato asked.
"Yes, I will accompany them; my father wants me to learn my duties for when I take over his place," the boy spoke, and Minato nodded, understanding that.
"Anyway, I'm going to get ready too. We'll talk more during the journey," he said, leaving with his servants after Minato nodded to him.
"You're quite popular, huh?" Valkyrie approached Minato at that moment.
"Maybe the boy is just thankful for what I did many years ago," Minato said as he put his mask back on, acting now as Lumen again.
"I saw some eyes of admiration in him," she teased.
"Anyway, let's see how things are there," Minato ended the conversation as they headed to the middle of the hall.
"Damayo-sama! We can take all this on scrolls!" Alpha went to the success of the servants preparing to carry. And even if that happened, they could not wait for the servants to carry it—after all, they would be traveling as ninjas, with the Damayo being carried.
"Ah, so you can use those magic papers, okay then. Take everything." The portly man seemed satisfied as Alpha and a few other ANBU members began to store the luggage in scrolls.
Finally, everything was ready for them to depart the next day. While they met in front of the castle, the delay from the Damayo until he organized things took so long that it darkened, and everyone had to spend the night there, preparing to leave the next day.
"Let's go then!" the Damayo spoke as a man who was hired for this carried a gigantic basket strapped with a harness to his chest—large enough to fit four people—but it would be just the Damayo and his son there. As they entered, the man held them with certain ease.
"We are all ready. Let's depart!" Alpha gave the order as Minato and the others followed the man with the giant basket, advancing through the city and passing the northern area of it.
Their goal was the Iron Country—the lands of the samurai, a place that remained neutral during the war and was chosen to host the meeting between the Kages. The Damayo delayed them a bit; after all, he wanted to continue his life of luxury and stopped in cities for a luxurious bed and a bath in a sauna.
Therefore, it took at least two days of travel to reach the Iron Country. The meeting would be well to the south of it. They quickly met the Konoha group with another four ANBU squads, with the Hokage and his guards waiting for them.
Minato noticed that two of those squads were from the Root, under Danzo's command. Danzo had tried to recruit Minato a couple of times in the last six months, but Minato had refused. He could see how the man stared at him, knowing he was behind that mask—as a threat.
Minato had to get rid of him, but the right moment had not yet come. Soon it would happen—after all, he needed to put the village on his side.
The Hokage greeted the Damayo and his son personally, as they rarely met, while the Damayo was already complaining about the cold weather of this country.
A while later, they continued to the meeting place. Even before arriving, Minato could feel the powerful aura coming from that area, full of strong people gathered there. Not everyone had arrived yet, as there were other auras coming from other places.
This was the meeting to decide whether the war would continue—ceasing the non-aggression pact—or officially decree the end of the Second Great Ninja War once and for all.
