As Rex entered the study, the Oracle looked a little surprised that Rex came in.
"What is it, my benefactor?" The Oracle asked.
"I need to know a couple things. Can I research through your categories of beasts in the Eighth Realm?" Rex asked.
"My books are just general that I have bought over the years. There is one book that I have you can. Otherwise, I suggest that you ask the guardians of the Soul Temple to allow you to enter the Forbidden Library.
The knowledge in there is the most up to date through unknown sources. It could be someone whom you met in there or it may not be. Regardless, do whichever if not both that make you better." The Oracle replied.
"I'll look at that book of yours. If nothing is there, I will have to go the Forbidden Library." Rex replied.
The Oracle ran a small bell. Two maids came in almost rushing.
"Take Rex to that special book from the Eighth Singet Doctor. I hope that there is some information in there for Rex." The Oracle told them.
The two bowed and led Rex to a locked room. Inside was a shelf with seven levels, a book at each end, a desk with a lamp and fancy throne to sit in, but the weirdest part. There were no windows, various protection arrays that made Rex tingle, and the feeling of being hunted inside the room.
"You are feeling uncomfortable. That is understandable. Due to the amount of knowledge stored within this room. The arrays watch and kill if you purposely want to take something.
Even stronger Heavenly Realm Cultivators can and have broken. Their remains sealed within this room and their Souls destroyed. This place is not just a secret. It is the secret that we all keep." The first maid spoke.
"The book that the Oracle said you could look at is the one that contains the strangest creatures within this Realm. The notes you take are for your own personal use. Your women in exchange can also use them. Anyone else and you will die. Use different paper than the one we give you. You die. Transfer the knowledge to different piece of paper. You die." The second maid told Rex.
Rex was truly upset at this. He did not know he would have to do so much to get just a tiny bit of knowledge.
The book was placed in front of Rex on the desk. A paper and quill sat to the right. Rex began to look at the front of the book to see if there was any information on the creatures up front. There was only the start. He turned to the back. The book page had twelve of the weirdest creatures in the Eighth Realm. Rex did not see the ones that he needed. He flipped the page.
There a creature that looked like a leg had been cut of was there. Rex looked at it words around it but it only spoke of a creature that disregards it's own body to save its brain.
Rex wondered if this was part of it. It lived within the marshlands surrounding a terrible power. Rex knew that this must be one of the creatures.
He flipped the page. A fox-like creature with the ability to camouflage itself. Since it could camouflage itself, it became the hunter. Even most beasts feared the fox. Rex flipped the page.
A beast surrounded by snow. The fur was too strong for normal attacks to cause damage but it was too slow to do damage. The sheer cold would freeze the enemies before they could attack. Rex flipped the page one last time.
Standing near the edge of a plain behind it. A beast that looked like former royalty but demoted due to a major loss. It looked painfully upset it would not attack unless you truly wished to enter the plains behind it.
Having written down and drawn the beasts similar to what he knew. Rex then took the time to relax. He knew that danger was going to be his best friend inside of those areas.
"Only the fallen leg creature told me where to find them. Unless they search continuously for prey. I will be in trouble." Rex spoke.
The maids listened and watched carefully. They did not know why Rex would choose those creatures to research. There was a book about that area that Rex could research.
"If I may, what makes you want to go there? If you are displeased with anything. Our heads are might be worthless before you. It would be better than sacrificing yourself." The first maid spoke.
"Something tells me that we are heading to a soft spot that either we need to kill or help break free whatever is in there." Rex told them.
The second maid brought the other book down. She took the first one back.
"I will personally allow notes to be taken. Remember, only you and your women can use these notes." The second maid spoke.
Rex felt relieved. He began to research that area. He found some very disgusting creatures living in there, a swamp that would make most people vomit, and a mountain that could shake the entire Nine Mortal Realms and nothing be done about it.
"Alright. I need to do this within three days. This will be the hardest three days starting tomorrow." Rex told them.
He walked to the room with his women to tell them about what he actually had to do within three days.
