Today was a Wednesday. And not just any Wednesday. The first week of the Academy's resumption and Nefari's first day of attending classes. She missed a few due to her injury from the test. Which held her in a coma for a few days. But now, Nefari had to catch up.
Nefari had the urge to sleep for a long time due to exhaustion but sadly, what awaited her was the workload of school.
Waking up at six-thirty, she took a shower and dressed in the Academy's uniform. Thankfully it wasn't rumpled when she took it out of her spatial ring. It was just as she initially kept it.
The Academy's uniform was a button up t-shirt, a bow tie, an A-line skirt and a jacket. But depending on your class, it was different. Earth class had a color combination of silver, black and white. Heaven class was gold, brown and black. And for special class, it was red, black and white. It wasn't too special but the material was of high quality and the uniform was designed with a decent sense of fashion.
Packing her hair up in a bun, Nefari watched herself in the mirror as she placed her identity tag on her jacket. Red with silver writings.
Nefari Silverheart. Mage. Special class. Affinity; Water(Ice variant).
Her books and all she needed for the day was placed in her spatial ring. This week was for theories. She'd go shopping before the week for practical demonstrations.
With no hesitation, Nefari stepped out of her room and locked the door.
After exiting the dormitory, she brought out her class schedule and looked through it.

'So… History of Gaia it is.'
'But… how to find a classroom in a city?! Wait… I should have a map. Seriously, how did I forget?'
Nefari face palmed when she remembered she was given a map along with her uniform and books.
"It should be here…" She muttered, checking through the papers she received. And Nefari found the map in the middle of the instruction book.
"Aha!" she exclaimed softly. Finally, getting lost wasn't much of an issue.
Nefari arrived at her first class for the day, a few minutes to eight. When the teacher had yet to arrive.
The classroom was neat, organized and modernized. As expected of the academy. The students looked posh and there were enough spacing between the chairs.
Taking a seat near the window in the middle row, Nefari ignored the stares on her. It was expected. And it was plain curiosity. For a starter, she's resuming middle of the week. And, she's in the special class with no information about herself to others. They simply wondered who she was.
Bringing out an erotic novel from her spatial ring, Nefari engrossed herself in her guilty pleasures, reading the rated 19 novel.
Not a few seconds after, she heard a voice from her side.
A fluffy blonde thing flashed in her sight and a head popped in her vision.
"Darkened day?! Limited edition season seven!"
Nefari groaned as she pushed the head that was staring at her novel away.
"Oh, gee thanks for screaming that out. Mind if I add a speaker to complete it?" Sarcasm laced in her voice as she glared at the stranger.
Darkened day- the novel she was reading was a popular smut novel. A part of the public abhorred it but there was a faction of deranged people that adored it. And sadly, she belonged there. And it would've stayed hidden. But no- Blondie here had to inform the class. And whoever could hear his loud voice.
The stranger let out a sheepish grin before responding.
"I'm sorry, I'm a huge fan. I got excited when I saw it."
Yes, Nefari was a fan too but she felt this individual was too disgusting. Shameless! Even if she was too but that's not the point.
She rolled her eyes and ignored him. Her insides going on a stampede from the embarrassment but her poker face showed otherwise.
"Hey!" the stranger called out to her.
Nefari felt the urge to change seats immediately. What a nosy and noisy neighbor.
"Yes?" she asked with a voice that seemed to speak death. Nefari was annoyed. Who's this damned pest?
Blonde hair, blue eyes, striking features and a prince charming smile. Oh, how she wanted to claw at his face. No hard feelings.
"I'm Elan Novak. Your seat mate! What's your name?" He asked.
"Nefari." Was the short concise answer Nefari gave before turning back to read her novel. She already had a bad impression of this fellow. And his smile- so beautiful but disgustingly fake.
"You're new here, right? Mind if I show you around? Oh, and what's your element?"
Elan continued, naturally dense or ignoring her obvious disinterest in him.
With a sigh, Nefari put her novel back in her ring. And turned to look at Elan with smile.
"Ever seen me before? No. The map is enough and… as you can see on my tag, I'm a Water elemental." After replying to Elan, Nefari closed her eyes to rest before the lesson began.
"Oh okay." Elan let out an awkward laugh and Nefari was glad he understood.
Silence and peace ensued and Nefari thought it was over until she felt a finger poke her cheeks.
"Hm?" She opened her eyes and stared at the boy. Calmly using her sleeves to wipe her face. An expression of pure disgust enveloping her face.
"You have cute cheeks." Elan said.
"Thanks. You have a cute…" Somewhere along, Nefari's words got stuck in. That was reflex speaking.
She let out a fake cough. "Ah-hem, you have a cute name."
Elan let out a laugh, his cutesy aura changing almost immediately. He grinned, eyes upturned like a cat's as he leaned on his desk from her side.
"Even if you wanted to lie, you could've made it better."
Acting offended, Nefari let out an exaggerated gasp and placed her hand on her chest.
"No sir! It just took a while to find what was cute. How dare you accuse me!"
Elan's face darkened. What do you mean, find what was cute? He was very confident in his face. It was his pride even.
Seeing his look, Nefari smirked and placed her head on the desk.
"One-zero." She heard Elan say.
"Sure." Nefari responded. Somewhat in the mood to entertain this unusual fellow.
A one-sided rivalry began.
Just as she placed her head on the desk, the door opened and the teacher walked in. A perfect time to feel drowsy.
Nefari withheld a groan but her expression wasn't any better. Tiredness was obvious as she rubbed her eyes.
The teacher for history class was a brown haired man with shoulder length hair, green eyes, elvian ears and a lean structure with average height.
"Good day students. Welcome back to our second class of history. We have a new student today in our class. Due to certain reasons, her resumption was delayed. Anyways, a few days ago, an introduction of everyone was made and while we can't go over the process again, I'll call forward our new student to introduce herself."
The teacher started off and Nefari prepared herself to face her classmates. How likely would it be her? Very.
And as expected, she locked eyes with the teacher's green eyes.
"Nefari, please come forward."
She stood up with a calm composure and made her way towards the front.
There the teacher gestured to her to start with a nod.
"Hello classmates. I'm Nefari Silverheart, water elemental mage. Nice to meet you all." Was her bland response. Anymore shouldn't be necessary, no?
The teacher let out a smile before telling Nefari to go back to her seat.
"You may go back now." Nefari nodded.
The teacher continued, "As I told you all, you may address me by Mr. Allard. Wind elemental and I will be your History teacher for the term."
Turning to the board, the teacher wrote on it.
'Gaia's formation (II)'
"Previously, in our last class, we discussed about the formation of Gaia. From a strand of the orders of creation to a world of life and mana."
The teacher wrote, 'Orders Of Creation'.
"Uncertainty reigns in research about the orders of creation and their origin but nevertheless, they're what brought about this world and countless others. The orders of creation are boundless infinite energy that constantly evolves and destroys itself in a never ending process but remains on a stable line of track. Balanced out by itself. And thus, Gaia was formed."
The teacher turned to the class.
"Would anyone like to list the seven orders of creation? Or any one of them?" He asked.
A pink haired girl raised her hand.
"Yes, Vanessa?"
She stood up and answered.
"Chaos, Order, Mana, Fire, Earth, Water, Air."
The teacher smiled. "Correct! Those orders of creation existed since the beginning of time immemorial, evolving constantly to create countless things. And one of those things it created as I said earlier, are the worlds we live in and have seen."
Then he turned back to the board and listed the orders of creation.
"Side note, students. Though this might not be a class dedicated to Mana, the path to Strength is to assimilate the orders of creation. I assume you all understand the link? It's like eating more and growing fatter. As simple as that. Or as I would put, it's creating a stable link between a sea and pool until that pool becomes a river. And the more you assimilate the orders of creation that we were formed in, the more we become… an order. Or at least, more of it. Remember, we are variants of the orders. To hold the power of one, we must assimilate one."
The teacher turned to us. "Knowledge is a continuous process. Do not be hasty to understand. We have more time to learn. Is that alright, class?"
A resounding yes sir echoed.
And so history class began with a drowsy Nefari. Nothing entertaining, no new knowledge. Just there.
