Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Carl

"Hehe, thank you, partner," Bommon replied, stunning both of us. Intelligent Digimon are stronger than those without intelligence. This meant that "DUUUDE!!"

"Oh my gosh! Vaz!! My dream is closer than I thought!" I let them celebrate and then felt a breeze pass by me. I waited, but nothing happened. Just as I was losing hope, I saw Carl looking at me with a weird expression.

"What?" I asked, puzzled. He pointed to the top of his head. I touched my head and felt it—a freaking slime!

Carefully, I placed it in front of me. There it was, my green blob of menace! A dangerous Digimon. Tears welled up in my eyes as I hugged it. I don't know how long I hugged it, but I felt our connection growing clearer.

"Who's your partner, Vaz?" Carl asked, curiosity evident in his voice.

"Well, my friend, this is Algomon. He has a clear path to ultimate, but I don't think I will follow that path."

"Huh? Well, I don't know much, but I know your partner is rare!"

"Hehe, cool, right? Oh yeah, it's time to give them names, huh?"

"Yep!"

"Well then, Algomon, from now on, your name will be Banta." My green blob danced with joy, and then my digivice appeared. It was similar to the loader from Digimon Xros Wars II, but mine was green with black accents.

"Hehe, my turn! Bommon, your name will be Grand!" Just like mine, their connection became clear, and Carl's loader materialized. It was a lush grey with brown accents. After our excitement, we gathered various materials like fruits, dirt, shrubs, flowers, and dead tree saplings. Why? Because these materials are data. Our loader has a space that's essentially a void of data. By placing these materials inside, we could arrange and buy data to create a landscape, designing it however we wanted. This land would be beneficial for me since Banta is a virus type and we were in a viral land full of virus data.

As we collected more resources, I found a rock brimming with viral energy... LUCKY!! Virus energy could take form in Digimon and resources, which could be used to enhance abilities or facilitate digivolution. This rock, a rank 2 Virus, Earth type, would be incredibly useful for strengthening Banta or potentially digivolving into an earth type Digimon like Sunrizamon or Gotsumon.

Exploring further, we encountered hostile Digimon. We fought back, and our partners absorbed the data of their enemies. After gathering more materials, we headed back to meet the class. Our teacher gave us more advice on responsibility before we returned home.

At home, my partner and I celebrated, staying up late. The next day, I met Carl at the park in the digital world, where our Digimon could roam freely.

"So, what do you plan to do now, Carl?" I asked.

"Well, for starters, I'll strengthen Grand here," he replied confidently.

"Ahem, make sure not to overexert him, okay?"

"Of course, I know that."

"Great. Also, remember my grandpa's advice: 'Always, and I mean always, let the partner decide what he or she will do.'"

"Hmm, great advice. Thanks, bud."

"You're welcome." I sat there, pondering the future while holding a few materials and watching Banta play. I had a goal—a dangerous and ambitious one. Until now, I was just a loner with no real plan. But now, with Banta by my side, I felt a sense of purpose. I needed to make more friends to help each other achieve our dreams.

Standing on the bench, I declared, "Alright, future partner, we will achieve that one goal: To reach rank 5 and earn the best title ever!"

I got a few curious stares, and Carl laughed beside me, saying, "You sure have guts. Haha, well, partner, I'll join you in that goal. Mark my words."

Thus, my story begins here. From now on, I'll share my adventures, struggles, friendships, and everything that comes with it. Stay tuned!

Sure, I'll refine the narrative and enhance the characterization:

"So, what do you plan to do now, Carl?" I asked, leaning against a tree. It had been two days since we got our Digimon partners, and Banta and I had already participated in a few battles down in the city.

You might not know this, but even a city full of Digimon Tamers has plenty of Digimon roaming around. Just like Tagiru could use his loader to access the Digital World, we can do the same! Both worlds, our own and the Digital World, are bustling with people and Digimon. So yeah, we talked about battling, right?

Well, Digimon can cause trouble if they're not supervised properly. That's where Tamers come in, ensuring that Digimon don't disrupt city life. We take on missions listed on a site we can access through our phones. Some of these missions involve getting rid of troublesome Digimon like Tsumemon, delivering items to local Digimon stores, or battling other Tamers' Digimon. Banta and I love the battles, even though we've lost a few.
