Riele decided to visit Charlotte after work and then go home later.
She entered the apartment and saw her preparing dinner.
"You love cooking," she dropped her bag and joined her in the kitchen.
"It is not me but the baby. "
"But the food will still pass through you. "
"What are you driving at?" she cast her a quick look before going back to what she was cooking.
"I am saying that you love food."
Charlotte laughed. "How was work today?"
"Well, the usual."
"What did Jay and Kim say about your dress?"
"Nothing."
"What do you mean nothing? Were they busy?"
"Kim is acting strange and I don't like it. "
Charlotte noticed the sadness in her voice. She knew they had so much to discuss so she turned off the gas and gestured for her to sit down. "What happened?"
"Remember yesterday I told you that he came around..."
"Without any purpose, which of course I doubt."
Riele looked at her and she could tell she was making fun of the whole Kim coming without a purpose thing. "Are you going to be like this? " she smiled and Charlotte apologized.
"Go on please, don't mind me."
"So, he came over and he was acting all sweet to me. It got to a point, I thought we would kiss but we didn't."
"Hmm, were you anticipating the kiss?"
"Charlotte, please concentrate."
"I am and that is why I am taking notice of every single thing."
"You are taking notice of the bad things, Charlotte."
She laughed. "Continue, girlfriend."
"After..."
"giving you butterflies..." Charlotte added which made Riele stare at her in disbelief, she smiled.
"After he gave me butterflies as you said..." She glared at her but Charlotte was glad she admitted to it. "...he left me dumbfounded and this morning when I got to work, he treated me badly."
"What do you mean? "
"He got angry that I came late which is understandable but later, he got mad for no reason and told me that if I come in even if it is just a second late, he would get me fired. This is someone that came over to my house yesterday acting all sweet and I almost fell for him, girlfriend. I am glad I didn't listen to my heart but my brain.
"What if something had happened between us that night? I would be a fool the following morning. This is one reason I can not and will never fall in love with Kim. You can do me a favor and stop shipping us together. "
"Is it the same Kim?" She shook her head and said, "I doubt it. "
"Girlfriend, are you even listening to me?"
"Babe, I heard all you said but, I don't think Kim would do that intentionally. Maybe, he was pissed off about something. "
"Why can't you see anything bad in him? Why is he always the good guy?"
"Because he is." She remembered Riele had an accident at the Photoshoot and Kim took care of her. She noticed that he cared about her. "I can't tell you why but I want you to believe me that Kim is a good guy. " She stood up and went to the kitchen. "I will pack some food for Harry and I will appreciate it if he can come to spend some time with me since I can't have my best friend. "
"I see what you are doing here. "
Charlotte chuckled. "What do you mean?"
"Trying to bribe my brother with food, neh? "
She laughed harder. "You are smart, I must agree. Just don't tell him it was a bribe. "
She dished out their food after she was done packing Harry's food and they sat to discuss other things but Charlotte left the part about Kim Utter coming over and his threats out of their discussion.
