(WARNING: VERY DISTURBING)
The first location that Kelan and I stopped at was Lianne village which was near the boarder of Kassiel and Floran. We wanted to see if there were any heroes or villains here and take them to Floran with us where we could use Williams eyes and not only ask for information, but also for shelter that the surviving heroes and villains could stay at.
Before we went to the palace with Theodore last night, Theodore had ordered his knights to search for anyone alive in the village. According to the knights that were ordered to search for dead bodies and survivors, there were a total of 10 corpses and no survivors found. The rest had vanished and it was highly likely that they ran away since no one outside the village (and now a few more people) knows of their existence.
Kelan and I looked around for corpses and survivors since we slightly doubt that the knights were doing their job properly, and found a total of seven corpses belonging to villains; five on the side where the heroes lived and two in their own side. It seemed like the five who were found on the side of the heroes were still holding grudges and wanted revenge. Aside from Wren and I, three villains are missing.
On the hero's side, there were only three corpses belonging to heroes. It's still a lot but compared to how many dead villains there were, it was not a lot. It seems like the hero halo is only strong enough to give heroes a survival rate that's stronger than a villain's survival rate by about a half. At least the knights did do their job properly though, or else they'd be getting paid for no reason.
"Felix, it looks the heroes were killed using a weapon, not from fire," Kelan said, inspecting the corpse of a hero.
"Do you think it was the three villains who went missing that killed these three heroes?" I asked.
"No. The three villains that went missing was the girl with a scar on her arm, the boy with a scar on his neck and a little boy. Firstly, the girl's arm was healed by Lucas, but it wasn't healed enough for her to be able to swing weapons with that arm and it was the arm of her dominant hand. Secondly, the older boy's neck was also healed by Lucas, but it was only healed recently and the wound could open anytime, so he can't move much. Lastly, the little boy could barely hold a sword, so how could he kill a hero? It's not possible for the three of them to be able to kill the heroes," answered Kelan.
We suddenly hear rustling in the bushes and I gripped my sword handle, ready to unsheathe it and attack or defend. A white bunny with red eyes appeared out of the bush. It hopped towards us and stopped in front of the dead body, looking like it was sniffing it. The bunny then looked up at me and stared right into my eyes before hopping towards me, stopping at my feet. It began sniffing me as well before it looked up at me again then proceeded to jump around my legs, circling me.
"Those eyes," I said, "could it be... William?!"
"I know you're upset about his death, but being this delusional is too much," Kelan struck an arrow through me. "William's eyes aren't red either, it's clearly just an albino rabbit."
"Well how am I suppose to know what an albino rabbit looks like? I've never even seen one my whole life!" I exclaimed. I felt something hit my foot and looked down to see a rock resting next to my foot. It was the bunny who moved it there to get my attention. The white bunny then began hopping around in circles about a metre away from me, stopping once in a while to stare at me before continuing to hop in circles.
"What is it doing?" I questioned.
"Maybe it wants you to follow it," said Kelan. His left eye that was black started to glow green and a few seconds later, his face morphed into an expression mixed between confusion, disgust and fear. Kelan then covered his mouth with one hand and widened eyes. I'm guessing that he had just used his abilities to see a bit of the future and whatever he saw, it wasn't pretty.
I heard a noise moving further and further away, so I turned to look and saw the white bunny hopping somewhere. I quickly rushed after it, curious of what it was going to show me. I wanted to know what Kelan saw that made him react that way. He didn't even react when he talked about the trauma he received from Wren, but he gave a big reaction when he saw what the bunny was going to show me.
The white bunny stopped in front of what looked like a warehouse made out of wood and had a metal door. I walked towards the door cautiously, thinking that someone might suddenly jump out to attack me, but no one did. When I was right in front of the door, I could see a bit of dried blood on the barrel bolt lock. I was alarmed.
I immediately unlocked the door and hurriedly slammed it open. Inside, I saw a girl with a whole arm cut off, a taller male with no skin on a part of his neck and a little boy with stitches all over his body, green button eyes and a stuff toy in his hand. I instantly froze seeing this and only regained my senses when the foul smell of rotting flesh hit my nose. It was disgusting.
The bunny then hopped in the room and approached the little boy. It jumped on him however instead of the little boy's leg being solid, it sunk down. While the bunny seemed completely clueless and continued to jump around on the little boy's body, I was bewildered seeing fluff come out of the boy's stitches that were slowly coming apart. It was like he was a teddy bear.
I looked around, hoping to find the culprit behind this but instead, I found a small dagger resting against the wall next to the girl who had one arm cut off. Then, I finally recognise the girl and taller male's faces as well as how cruel the culprit really was.
The girl who had a scar on her arm couldn't wiled a weapon and got her arm cut off; the small dagger was made out of her bones. She couldn't wield a weapon with her scarred arm when she was alive, but now that arm had become a weapon itself.
The taller male was insecure about the scar on his neck. He even talked to William and I about how he might cover his neck with bandages just like me to hide his scar. On his dead body, the skin where his scar use to be was gone. His scar was no longer visible, just like what he wanted. Now any outsider that stumbles upon his dead body will never know of his neck scar.
I don't know anything about the little boy, but he seems to like stuff toys. He is holding one in his hand after all. His dead body seemed to be turned into a human sized stuff toy. His insides were replaced with fluff and green buttons eyes were sewn onto him. I can't even tell if that was his real skin or wool since the warehouse barely had any light.
It was horrible. What happened to the three of them is horrible. Whoever that did this to them is horrible. This whole sight is horrible. I now understand why Kelan had that reaction.
"Felix," I heard Kelan's voice behind me, "we should go."
"Kelan," I turned around to face them, "don't you want to know who did this to them?"
"I do but we have a time limit right now Felix. Rather than trying to find out who killed them, we need to find out where the first prince is being kept. They're already dead and won't go anywhere, so we can always come back here later but we need to save your life first," replied Kelan. Right, we already have a goal. I can't help them get revenge right now, because I have to save myself first.
I followed Kelan back to the carriage but suddenly stopped and turned back around to look inside the warehouse. Red glowing eyes stared back right at me in the darkness. No doubt, it was the bunny. It was so small and clueless, unaware of everything around it. A completely innocent creature it was. Sometimes I wished I could be that clueless too, just so I can avoid knowing such a cruel and hurtful reality.
"Come on, let's go," said Kelan, already sitting in the driver's seat.
When I was about to step into the carriage, I felt something touching my foot. I once again felt alarmed but when I looked down, I saw the white bunny. How silly of me. How could I be alarmed by this small thing? I picked the bunny up and entered the carriage, letting it rest in my arms.
Perhaps the lack of a stable mental state had caused me to be more cautious than usual. Yeah, that must be it, after all... it's just a white little bunny.
