[Ascended Realm, Gor's Residence]
The rays of the sun snuck into the room through the window as the cool morning breeze blew; a young man turned in his bed and soon opened his dark eyes which were still hazy from sleep, taking in the sight of the beautiful sunrise he sighed deeply as if he missed something but soon his clouded eyes brightened as if the nostalgia was never there.
Getting up the rays of the sun danced on his copper skin creating a lovely contrast as he stretched his body, he had quite a fit and athletic body for someone who looked as young as him, with just the right amount of muscles in his arms and legs, his hair was as dark as his eyes and looks wooly and soft even if it had lost its sharp edges from him not getting a cut for a while.
"Well, I guess I've kinda gotten used to it now" he mumbled to himself as he looked out the window at the town down below that had started showing activity as people began their days, he saw people wearing leather armor and carrying cold weapons moving towards the town exit as they went off hunting, strange birds sat on the roofs of the strange buildings and sang their songs, a herd of a green furred goat-like animal was led by a man towards the direction he now knew was the market, and he many more weird things but now it didn't move him like the first day.
Turning around he walked to one of the doors in the room which after he opens it we can see is a sort of bathroom; its floor was made from a marble like rock that felt mildly warm under his feet and its walls were made from a different type of rock.
At the center of the medium-sized bathroom sat a tub made from a dark blue ceramic material and two taps with weird symbols at its edges that were used to fill the tub with water.
Taking off his clothes he stepped into the bathroom and quickly turned on the strange inscribed taps, he fiddled with them till he was satisfied and waited patiently as he watched the water fill the tub and warm steam began rising, soon the tub was filled enough and he got in slowly, and he let the warm water wash away the remaining drowsiness in his body after which he grabbed the soap bar resting on the tub side and began cleaning himself.
Soon Chike finished bathing and came out to dry his body with a towel "For a different world their state of living is quite good" he mumbled to himself after which he got dressed.
Moving to a table which was a new addition to the room he sat down and opened one of the books placed on it, the book was filled with weird symbols on one side and the other side English words, he diligently read the book page by page as he occasionally mumbled weird sounds to himself as if trying to get used to saying them, after reaching the empty pages he picked up a pen like tool and stared writing down more weird symbols and English words.
Chike's concentration was broken when a soft knock was heard from the entrance door "Come in" he said as he turned in his seat to face the door. The door opened and Gor stepped in with a tray of food, milk and as usual, the purple fruit which he found out was called the 'cloud seed'; a befitting name in his own opinion.
"As always you're up early," Gor said with his usual warm smile but this time he didn't do it telepathically but spoke a strange language.
Chike's dark eyes flashed as he paused as if to analyze what he heard "It is a habit I formed since I was little" he replied clumsily in the same strange language.
"Good good, you're learning fast, I'm impressed" Gor's smile grew wider as he dropped the tray on the table and sat on the second chair "These two weeks you've really surprised me with how fast you learn"
"Thank you, Mister Gor, it's only because you made things so simple" Chike smiled as he began eating but this time more slowly "Now I have mostly learned the common languages, what's next?"
"Well, you've been in here for two weeks now, maybe it's time for you to go outside, we'll start with you meeting my family properly," Gor said "I'll go tell them and this evening you'll have dinner downstairs"
Chike's eyes lit up as he was excited to meet people his age, for two weeks his only company had been Gor, and even if he was friendly and helped him recover Chike needed to at least interact with people his age, he was a social and outgoing person so being cooped up in one place for long had started affecting his mood.
"Now finish up and keep studying the language, you can work on how fluid you speak so you don't sound too rigid" Gor flipped his hand and a book appeared in it, this book had a cover with those weird symbols on it and a picture of a burning city and when Chike sees it his eyes glittered, it was obvious he wanted the book "Got you another story, you really love reading don't you?" Gor chuckled.
Chike soon finished his food and glass of milk and set the dishes neatly on the tray, after Gor took the tray and left Chike to the silence of his room he picked up the book excitedly, and with the Cloud seed in his hand, he lay in bed. Opening the first page of the book and reading for a while a smile appeared on his face and he took a bite of the fruit in his hand.
°°°
The evening soon arrived and Chike was still completely focused on the book on his lap as he read its contents quietly, he had a new set of clothes on, meaning that at some point he probably bathed and had a change of clothes.
Chike's reading time was interrupted by a soft knock on his door and soon Gor came in "Hope you're ready, the kids can't wait to see you" He said "Ana even decided to cook" he added as he frowned lightly "Her food isn't the best but whatever you do, DO NOT SAY THAT"
Chike who had just stood up stared at Gor in confusion "What?"
"Just forget it" Gor sighed in resignation "Come on let's go" he held open the door "After you"
Chike took a deep breath and stepped out of the room for the first time in two weeks.
Downstairs, Chike followed Gor as he led him through the house towards the dining room, he had the chance to monitor this house which he has been in for two weeks and which he probably will be in for much longer.
The house was a two story mansion that had two wings, the north wing was where Chike's room was, so to arrive at the south wing they had to go through the connecting passageway.
The house could not be called huge and luxurious like a palace but it sure was big, with polished wooden floors all around, a few paintings hung here and there on the painted stone wall, and vases of nice smelling flowers the house had a nice solemn touch to it.
Currently, the sun had set but some glowing rocks which were placed on the walls acted as light sources and lit the house in a warm orange glow which subconsciously calmed Chike down as he followed Gor quietly.
Soon Chike smelt the aroma of cooking food coming from a room at the corner of the passageway, peeking in he caught a glimpse of a young girl around his age who was cooking in the not-so-tidy kitchen.
"That's Ana" Gor had stopped at some point and was peeking with him into the kitchen "She's our chef for tonight" he whispered in a tired voice as if saying those words took a lot of energy from him "Let's go"
They turned the corner and they were in the dining room, the room had a large table in the center that was made of polished wood, and around the table were six chairs, on three of those six chairs, sat three children, two of whom Chike thought were vaguely familiar one looked to be around his age, the other younger than him, who maybe was seven years old, he remembered the little boy's face that he saw before passing out the day he was saved, besides the little boy was a cute little girl of about the same as the young boy.
Chike would not say he was a shy person in the least but standing there, with three pairs of eyes belonging to strangers staring straight at him, he could not help but feel a little self-conscious and nervous because these were the first new faces he had seen aside for Gor's in two weeks.
