Chapter 8 - GRANDMA REMEMB’RING HER CARLITO

Tangled in blankets,

tears kissed my pillow.

My face is damp;

I can make a swamp.

Cheeks are numb,

the heart's throbbing.

I checked the time,

it was almost morning.

Reoccurring thoughts

caressed my mind.

With overwhelming pain, I wait.

I think you must be someplace fair

and far away,

I hope it is indeed a better place

for you to stay.

I kept our abode as adorable as it is.

I drench your beloved dining seat,

When the kitchen sink explodes the other day.

Dare not to forget you, Carlito.

Dear, I hope you're okay.

I hope salad served was good,

And hot coffee never served without honey;

Jam on bread must be evenly spread.

I bought the trousers when they were sold.

I did hang it in the alley.

You might meet someone funny

To do fun and to be funky

You may never miss me.

You may never remember me.

But I always did.
