It had been a week since Arthur found himself in this strange, mysterious place. Towering trees of all sizes surrounded him, their branches thick with coiled vines that resembled dragons in their form. Everywhere he looked, there were massive bushes, so big they might as well be called trees themselves—if they were on Earth, that is. This was his new home for the time being, offering some protection against the cold. The leaves? Well, they served as his blanket during the nights, and whenever it rained, he could use them to shield himself. Birds, enormous ones, flew across the sky, casting large shadows over the forest as they searched for food.
Arthur's condition? Pitiful would be an understatement. He was gaunt, with skin as pale as a sheet of paper from hunger. He'd been eating wild grass for days, but even when he stumbled upon a rare berry bush, it was guarded by some monster, like that giant bear from last time. The thing was so massive, it could've easily towered over a four-story building. What the hell did that bear care about berries? Could they fill its stomach? What was this world?
> "Aah, I'm so pitiful."
"Lonely..."
"Not even the system is responding. What a useless thing."
"System? Tsk, tsk. Can't even help me with this or that, and no food, no clothes. Look at me—I'm like a beggar! About to die from hunger. I even drank a tiger's piss just to stay alive!"
"This system can't even give me a weapon! What am I supposed to do? Beg for it?"
"Please, give me a weapon, a huge sword that can kill and hunt for food."
"See? Useless. Failure."
"What am I supposed to do, cast a magic spell asking for food or whatever?"
> "Abra kadabra, give me a sword!"
Clang!
...
...
"What the f*ck!? This works???"
Arthur was so furious he could've chewed through the bark of the nearest tree in anger. But he had no time for that. His stomach was growling like crazy. His thoughts? Revenge on that system. He swore he'd get back at it for all the nonsense it had put him through. Definitely.
An hour of relentless munching later, Arthur's hunger was finally satisfied. He also learned that the system could only provide limited items—old weapons from ancient times, clothes, food, and water. That was it. But now that he had food in his stomach and a weapon in his hands, he began feeling a strange excitement. His curiosity about the forest sparked. Sure, monsters would chase him—like they always did when he had nothing—but now that he was armed, it wouldn't be so bad. He could run, hide, and fight back. Easy.
But first, he needed to sleep. It was cold outside, and he wasn't in the mood to freeze his ass off.
> Claps hands
"Abra kadabra, I want a blanket!"
...
The next morning, Arthur woke up early, buzzing with excitement. He was finally going to venture into the forest to figure out just why a monster would guard a measly handful of berries. And besides, he had a sword now. He couldn't just not use it, right? Of course, he wouldn't try using it on a giant monster—that would be asking for death. He wasn't that stupid.
> "Hehe, the human destroyer is coming!"
...
An hour later…
> "Aaaaaah, f*ck! Why is there a huge snake above the tree I'm living in? That's unreasonable!"
"You want to play with me? Eat this—Heavenly Spear Blow!"
Clang!
A loud metallic sound rang out as Arthur struck the snake. But it didn't even leave a scratch.
> "What the f*ck?! Why is its skin so thick?!"
"Well, that's good for you. Bye!"
...
An hour later…
> "F*ck, leave me alone, you shameless bastard! Why me? I'm tired! Time first!" Arthur whined, his voice echoing through the forest.
Of course, many creatures heard his complaints, their ears pricked. But Arthur, too busy whining, didn't notice them.
> "I don't wanna die! I'm still a virgin, no girlfriend yet, I still have dreams! Please don't—"
Suddenly, an explosion behind him interrupted his tantrum. He spun around to see a massive flaming bird battling the giant snake!
> "Oh! I need to watch this."
"Holy sht, this is so good! Go, birdy! Burn it to death! Yeah, that's it! No, no, no! Make it well done! I wanna eat that sht!"
Loud explosions and shrieks echoed across the forest.
> Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
BOOOM!
The bird gained the upper hand and soon roasted the snake alive, turning it into a pile of sizzling meat. The smell—oh, it was delicious. The bird swooped down, took a piece of the snake, and flew away.
Arthur, ever the opportunist, snuck up to the snake's well-done body and grabbed a slice.
But before he could take a bite, the roar of beasts echoed through the trees. The beasts were coming.
> "Oh no!" Arthur cursed. "Since the snake smells, they'll be able to track me too!"
Without hesitation, he took a bite of the well-cooked snake meat while running. To his surprise, an incredible surge of energy coursed through his body. He felt... energized.
> "Awesome! Later, I'll hunt more of these things! But for now, I'll finish this piece first!"
...
An hour later...
The sounds of battle cries echoed through the forest.
> BOOM!
