He stood there for several minutes in silence, knife drawn and ready for combat. It had been so quiet that he could hear his own heartbeat. He couldn't see the scattering in the shadows or the loud movement that was there previously.
It seemed whatever was there knew of his existence, which ended up in a waiting game of seeing who crumbled under the pressure of the other to see who attacked first. After a while of this, Kore's eyes had adjusted to the darkness of the room better and he saw whatever it was in the corner. It was a small rat-like creature with dark grey fur and a stinger rather than a tail. It had also been the size of a small dog, with spider-like legs.
'Analysis' He called out in his head after finally getting clear sight of it.
[Scorpion-Rat]
[Rare Monster]
[Rarely found, though when found, it's mostly in groups of nine or ten. Their stingers are incredibly venomous, with people stung lasting only one to two hours. They are also ambush predators.]
Kore read through the description and realized that he could only see the one that had been in front of him this entire time. He shook at the thought that he may well be surrounded already without him even knowing it.
Carefully, Kore looked around the room to his sides and saw two on each side of him. Following that, he slowly looked up to see two above him. It appeared they were all ready to strike. It appeared they were all ready to strike and this situation had not been favorable to him. With the monsters outnumbering him by eight, possibly even with his companion Flames, this fight would be a truly dangerous one.
And with that last thought scattered, it was heard to his front that they were striking when he seemed most weak, which was when he was deep in thought, or so it seemed. Quickly, the rat monsters lunged at him and Flames with five attacking each of them.
Kore dodged back quickly to stop the one above him from attacking him while swinging to keep the others back, which worked out in his favor as the one above him just slammed into the ground and the other ones avoided getting hit, which stopped their attacks.
After that, one followed up and lunged at Kore, which he found surprisingly slow, promptly splitting it in half.

Ignoring the messages which blocked his view, he swung randomly in an attempt to get rid of another one. He missed and one bit him, ripping off a chunk of skin and causing him to bleed.
[HP: 15/16]
Kore grunted in pain at this, but he still had a fight to win, so he stepped backward, almost falling over the dining set that lay next to him. Quickly, another one that he hadn't seen jumped at him from his left, just barely in his view.
He responded as fast as he could, grabbing a chair and swinging it into the rat thing, which promptly made it fly into a wall which left it on the brink of death and in no condition to continue.
Kore felt a stinging pain in his left ankle, which caused his leg to buckle a little bit and he looked back at what had happened.

[Poison Resistance Leveled Up]
The venom from the monster had caused a pain to shoot through Kore's leg. The pain being extreme and clouding his vision had provided an opportunity for the other rats to rush him while he was weakened.
The group rushed at him, taking bites at him until Flames rushed toward the group, flinging one into a wall and tearing another to bits.

[Scorpion-Rat Venom repelled by Poison Resistance]
He had been knocked down on the floor and was confused about what had been happening as the venom had hindered his ability to think and really do anything at all, but after a while, he picked up his blade that he had dropped and stood up to see all of the rats dead, even the ones he hadn't counted prior to the battle.

'What even happened' Kore thought while standing in the middle of the room staring at the mess that was made around him.
[There is a pile of corpses in front of you]
[Do you want to let them reincarnate]
[Yes/No]
[No]
[Would you like to punish the sinners?]
[Yes/No]
[Yes]
After clicking yes, Kore left the room with Flames and began his journey back. He didn't want to stay for them being pulled into hell. It had been a long day anyway, and he had just wanted to go back and relax for a bit or something like that.

The world had become clearer around him, and he had felt faster. It was also like a fog had been lifted from his mind, though it still hadn't changed anything about his decision to go back. He had been too tired to go out to Flames but it seemed to have understood what he wanted and followed along.
He and his friends hadn't scheduled a time to be back, it was obvious that they shouldn't just leave without waiting for the others, so when he got to the entrance, he just took a seat and waited for his friends.
