There were several things that intrigued Nepheline and Shade about these people, the Molluskians. Apparently they "came from the future" and also knew of these stairs, but they weren't allowed to use them, so they never used them.
Which was weird, any other person would've tried to walk upstairs eventually, yet for some reason everyone was so obedient. Not even elves were this obedient to a word given to them, yet there wasn't a single person, not even children, who dared to walk upstairs anyway.
Something was also bugging Nepheline's mind, which she decided to ask in her next question, looking at the two Molluskians in front of her.
"I have a question for you… Are you not aware your entire city is inside a dungeon right now?" As she asked this question, she quickly noticed something.
"Huh?"
"What's a dungeon?"
Submarinus nor Elmephie had any idea what that word meant, something that only struck Shade and Nepheline as very suspicious and beyond bizarre.
