Wren's hand rested in the small of Rowan's back as he escorted him through reality back to the garden. The support couldn't be more welcome. Death's energy had given Rowan what he needed in the moment, but now that he'd used it for its intended purpose he felt completely drained.
As the bridge formed under their feet, the last of Rowan's strength dwindled and he leaned more heavily against Wren. Always eager to give Rowan exactly what he needed, Wren immediately shifted his arm so it hooked around Rowan's waist, pulling him closer against the solid heat of his body.
Rowan sighed contentedly, both at the happiness of having someone to lean on and at the sight that sprawled before them. At long last it was summer again, and the garden had come back to life.
