I watched Rion’s face carefully as I told him what we knew so far about the Lycaon leader. I was worried about how he might react, but I was also relieved that I was finally able to fill him in.
It had been a frightening experience to find all this information out and not be able to lean on Rion for support and guidance.
Rion looked murderous as soon as I mentioned the Lycaon name. He was understandably furious because they had been responsible for Eva’s traumatic past and for the near kidnapping of our daughters. I felt a surge of anger as well whenever I thought about the dangerous faction.
“These children…” Rion said, his voice low and trailing off as he stared in shock down at the picture of the boys.
I took his hand. “We haven’t been able to confirm their identity,” I told him carefully. “But what we do know is that they seem to be impervious to illnesses and heal at an accelerated rate.”
Rion sucked in a breath at that, his wide eyes locking with mine.
