As night gradually fell, every household hung up lights and set off firecrackers.
Red lanterns hung everywhere on the streets, freshly pasted couplets and red paper-cuts on the glass. People walked the streets, discussing topics about the "new year."
Frost-covered branches were adorned with colorful lights, and casual players sold papercuts, blessing characters, smoked meat, fireworks, and other festive items.
