Once the truck turned onto the main road, Jayce lost sight of the shapeshifter, so he let his body collapse into the bed of the truck.
'Fuck, everything hurts.'

'Stop nagging me,' Jayce complained as he closed the notifications.
Taking a second to center himself, he dragged himself toward the front of the truck and knocked on the rear window which opened almost immediately as the noise of five teenagers arguing assaulted him.
"All of you shut the hell up!" Jayce yelled, silencing the truck instantly. "Amaya, tell the skinny nerd to take us back to the mansion."
All of the teenagers turned toward Amaya who translated what he said.
"You just got attacked by a maniac in the bathroom and some old dude just Usain Bolted at us with murder in his eyes! We're going to the fucking police station!"
