The light was still on the stairs, but the light in Room 1 on the second floor was off. Shard turned on the light as he entered, the flowers still piled up in his living room, but the candles on the dining table had already been extinguished.
He didn't see Lecia, but Dorothy was sitting on the sofa waiting for him. Her expression had returned to normal, no longer showing signs of her earlier tears.
"What happened?"
