Chapter 684 - The fun

"You see those bright flowy things on the celling?" Ollie asked.

"Which flowy things?" Annie and Maddie asked as they looked up and saw nothing.

"Those flowy things," Ollie said snapping his fingers and they appeared on the celling.

"I see what you did there blondie." Maddie said and he chuckled. He too could be a bit playful. He did not have to be serious all the time.

"Anyway, we are going to jump as high as we can and try to catch as many of those things as we can in five minutes," He said. "I have already set a timer.". With the snap of his fingers a cute, little yellow bird appeared and tweeted around before hovering in the air in silence.

Maddie looked at the little birdie, it was so cute. Ollie's display of magic reminded her just how cool magic was, but she would never tell him that.

"That sounds easy enough," Annie said as more of the bright, colourful, flowy things appeared on the celling.

"I agree, shouldn't be that hard," Matt said.

"Wait, wait, wait, firstly, what are those flowy things?" Maddie asked, she did not want to take her chances and he doused in some strange colourful liquid or powder.

"You just have to find out Maddie," Ollie responded, there was no way he was telling her what was in the objects above, it would take away from the fun of it all.

"You better speak up blondie or I'm not playing," Maddie crossed her arms and frowned. Annie was about to scold Maddie when she looked at Matt and he shook her head telling her to be silent.

"Fine, then suit yourself, we will just have fun while you watch," Ollie shurgged.

Annie laughed and so did Matt. Maddie's mouth was wide open, she could not believe that the blondie had spoken to her like that before. Usually he would frown, or beg her, but he did the exact opposite, he looked like he did not care.

"There's no way you just said that blondie," Maddie frowned.

"Well, I did, so guys, are you ready?" Ollie turned to Annie and Matt who nodded. It was like a picture-perfect moment to see Maddie rejected by Ollie for once. It was so good that Annie wished she could capture the moment of how shocked she looked.

"Wait a minute, you don't get to exclude me, I exclude you!" Maddie exclaimed while Ollie simply ignored her.

"There is no way that I am going to watch you guys lose, because I am going to win.". Ollie smiled, he turned to her, if there was one thing he could always count on, that would be Maddie's competitive spirit. It would not allow her to be left out even for a moment.

"Okay, then prove it," He dared her. He knew that he was playing with fire, but it was worth it as long as she joined them.

"Just you wait blondie, now onto my second question!" Maddie said and Ollie nodded.

"How is this game going to be fair? Especially when Matt is part vampire and can jump higher than us anyway," Maddie pointed out.

"That is true, that is true," Annie had to admit.

"And we can't just make it fair by removing all magic, it won't even remove his vampire powers," Maddie said.

"Well firstly, we are not allowed to use any magic whatsoever, things get out of hand quickly when we do use it," Ollie said and that was all because of one blonde haired, blue eyed girl who was very competitive and would use spells that would normally be off the table.

"Then? That's still not fair, Matt can jump really high, do it Matt, jump," Maddie turned to Matt and jumped without bouncing.

"She has a point though," Matt laughed as he landed down.

Annie laughed, for once Maddie was not overreacting. Matt did have an unfair advantage that was not his fault.

"Alright, I have a simple solution," Ollie smiled.

"Which is?" Annie asked.

"I cast a spell that will act like a heavy suit that will reduce Matt's ability to jump high so his jumping will be the same level as ours," Ollie smiled, he snapped his fingers and a green suit of light enveloped Matt before wrapping around him and become invisible.

"That felt weird," Matt said.

"Sorry, sorry," Ollie apologized. "But try to jump like you did before," Ollie said as Matt attempted to but he did not move.

"Jump already!" Maddie said.

"I'm trying," Matt groaned, the veins in his neck tensed up and so did the veins in his temples. He was unable to move.

"Stop it, you're stressing yourself too much," Annie said worried, she could see how hard he was trying to jump but he could not.

"Dude, you have to share that spell with me," Matt laughed, he genuinely was unable to jump no matter how hard he tried.

"Sure, but jump now with the floors," Ollie laughed. Matt jumped and fell back down.

"There, it's fair, are you happy now?" he turned to Maddie who smiled sweetly at him.

"Yes I am happy, very happy Matt," She smiled blowing him a kiss.

"I just wanted fairness, is that too much to ask?" Matt rolled his eyes hearing her words.

"Let's just start the game already," Annie said.

"Yes, so jump as high as you can, no magic, touch as many of those flowy things as you can and whoever can touch the most by the time the timer stops is the winner," Ollie clarified.

"So, does everyone get it?" he asked.

"Yes," Annie and Matt said.

"Of course," Maddie replied.

"So one, two, three, go!" Ollie said. The bird made a loud tweeting sound and with that they all set off.

Maddie was the first to jump, she jumped and set her target on a blue, flowy thing above her. She touched it and was covered in a blue powder that caused her to cough.

Annie laughed seeing Maddie covered in blue.

"I knew it! I knew it! I knew it!!" Maddie screamed as she landed on her back and coughed.

Ollie laughed, he could not control himself, neither could Annie and Matt. It seemed that the three of them reached some sort of wordless agreement not to jump before Maddie.

"I knew those bright flowy things were suspicious!" Maddie cried, she stood to her feet and tried to remove the powder from her face. Hearing her friends laughing did not make this moment any better.

Ollie snapped his fingers and the yellow bird stopped counting down. He knew Maddie would need a minute or two, or three or five before she could calm down.

"My gosh, Maddie, blue is really your colour," Annie laughed as she shook her head. Matt found himself unable to take Maddie seriously, she looked like a little blue, furious animal with a tuft of blonde hair.

"Shut up! Shut up everyone one of you!" Maddie exclaimed. "You all connived against me! You did not jump, you waited for me to jumpy first!" She shouted. Maddie was enraged, this was the highest point of disrespect.

Ollie grimaced, she was truly really angry. He would not get out of this unscathed and he knew it.

"You blondie! You are a liar! A bloody liar!!" Maddie jumped up and down. Ollie was unable to take her seriously she looked blue and angry, very, very angry. The powder was everywhere.

"I asked you, I asked you what those things were and you lied!" Maddie said. "You are going to pay for this, you are going to." Maddie shouted, she ran after Ollie who instantly took off as soon as he saw her start running.

Annie and Matt laughed, they could believe what they were seeing right now. They both knew that Ollie would not be able to get away with this. Maddie did truly ask him what was in those things and he said she would just have to find out.

"You are going to pay!" Maddie ran after him, it was hard considering the ground was not solid but bouncing and she almost fell countlessly.

"Slow down you two, you are going to get hurt," Annie laughed, she was trying to calm them down, this was hilarious yes, but Maddie's rage would be pacified until she got revenge on Ollie.

Ollie on the other hand was bouncing about making him faster and able to swiftly avoid Maddie.

"Come back here?! Come right here!!" Maddie demanded. There was no way Ollie would come to her. He was dead the moment she got him.

Maddie groaned, she screamed from frustration and waved her hand causing Ollie to trip as he was about to land. Then she drew her hand backward which caused Ollie to be dragged towards Maddie by his feet.

"Wait, Maddie, wait, I am sor—" It was too late for his sorry. Maddie pounced on him and began to rub all the blue powder on her onto him.
