Due to the consistently hot weather, even before the Apocalypse, Country Y had a significant problem with cockroaches and rats, and households needed to regularly exterminate cockroaches, while rat bait stations were a common sight outside their doors.
But it was these little creatures that, after the Apocalypse, truly became the nightmare of Country Y's survivors. They were everywhere, impossible to prevent. Country Y itself was a small nation and some even predicted that it would eventually be overrun by zombie animals, and without intervention, its downfall was certain.
