" Sigh* What is happening to me?"
Loki leaned on the wall, looking at his trembling hands with distress in his eyes. He watched his life flash before his eyes, regretting his decision after witnessing the horrendous life of his own.
" So, what do you think? Do you think it is worth sacrificing everyone to fill your void?"
Mobius was sitting on the couch, looking at Loki, who was breathing heavily. He could see Loki was afraid. Afraid of losing himself, his family, and his loved ones because of his mistake and greed.
" What do you want to do then? I am just a villain in this story. My whole existence was a burden to others. I disappointed my only family."
Loki lamented his life, raising his head to look at the ceiling that was lit up dimly. The shock of death hadn't escaped from his mind, plaguing his thoughts, making him wonder whether it was worth taking Tesseract.
" Loki, that I know won't say this."
Suddenly, a figure entered the room, sitting before Loki with his dagger in his hand. He gently smiled at Loki, motioning him to take it because he wanted him to do so.
Obviously, Loki was sick of his antics, so he tried to snatch it away, but Arthur pulled it back to himself. He shrugged his shoulders, placing it in front of him again.
" Are you playing with me?"
Loki gnashed his teeth, knowing Arthur would take it away again. In this building, only he and Mobius believed in themselves, which was weird. He heard Arthur was some sort of hero in his world, and heroes hated Loki, but this guy was playing with him like he was Thor. He would always annoy him and brawl with him like Arthur.
" Yes. Do you know this fate isn't concrete yet? If I want it, I can request to save your universe like Mobius, which will make things much easier. So, take it from me."
Loki took a deep breath as he leaned forward, then he kicked the table, which sent the dagger flying in the air. Before Mobius registered what was happening, he grabbed the dagger and placed it near Arthur's neck. However, he couldn't graze his skin because it was conjured from his magic.
" Pity, you can't kill me with this duplicate. Mobius, do you have clothes for him? He looks like a beggar."
Mobius burst out with laughter, patting Loki's shoulders, which made him fume with anger. He swore he would kill Arthur after his stupid brother, but he didn't know how since this guy seemed to be immortal like his brother. Also, he was certain that Arthur was a master sorcerer by his magic as a fellow sorcerer.
" So, what is my mission?"
Loki asked with a calm face, putting on the suit that was somehow better than his prison uniform.
" We are hunting down a variant of you who is escaping from our radar. He or she is causing destruction across the timeline."
Loki furrowed his eyebrows, extending his hand to demand the Intel on the target. Without further ado, Mobius gave the file to him, which made him silent for a minute as he flipped through the pages.
" Do you have any idea where he/she will go next time?"
He asked with a serious tone, examining the impressive list that was filled with X marks, which indicated how dangerous the target was.
" Yes, thanks to the tracking device, but we believe the target won't stay there for a long time."
Loki threw the folder the the couch, straightening his jacket as he put the knife in his pocket.
" Then we will move quickly. By the way, can you guide me to the person who is responsible for the target's files?"
His mind quickly moved through possible motions, guessing his variant would move differently from their guess. He was too sharp and intelligent to walk in someone's palm.
" Sure. Follow me. Arthur, do you want tea?"
Arthur nodded at Mobius's words, nudging Loki with a bright smile that irrated him. He didn't understand why Arthur was so nice to him. Additionally, he predicted his every move like he were used to it. Perhaps, he was his archenemy in his world- Loki wondered.
