Grey, the reason Elder Pondwyn was unable to escape, was currently beside Sir Astarot. This was the only place he felt peace, not just that, but he was also injured from his exchange with Elder Pondwyn. Luckily Sir Astarot and the others arrived in time, else he would have not been able to keep Elder Pondwyn there any longer.
His battle with Elder Pondwyn reminded him of the gap between himself and a Peak Sovereign. A Ninth stage Sovereign was within his abilities, but a Peak Sovereign would be able to kill him if given sufficient time. It would not be easy, but they would definitely be able to.
The Toad Clan Leader looked at Elder Pondwyn with cold eyes as he asked, "How could you betray the Clan?"
"I did not betray our Clan, I was barely buying us a way out of this. Do you think the humans would win?" Elder Pondwyn scoffed, "They are weak, not decisive enough. The humans will eventually fall to them, and our stance in this war will determine our outcome."
