Chapter 7 - CREDIT

"Hands where I can see them." Aaron demands, gun aimed right at Nightwing.

Dick slowly puts his hands up and doesn't make any sudden moves. Aaron quickly puts the handcuffs on one of Dick's hands and drops him to his knees. Before he cuffs his other hand, he gives Aaron a recording device.

"Here." He tells his partner.

"What's this?"

"It has a recording of Sanders confessing to his employees murder. You take this, you put him away, you caught him, not me."

Aaron looks at the vigilante in shock.

"Why?"

"For Bludhaven. People need to know that the system works."

"You're telling me how to file a report?"

"Yeah, I am. And if you wanna take me in, then so be it. Vigilantes in Bludhaven end tonight."

"But that's not how it happened."

"Then make it how it happened."

Cash thinks to himself for a moment then smirks.

"This isn't some trick so I'll let you go, is?"

Dick chuckles.

"Part of me did. But whether you let me go or not, I wasn't the one who brought Sanders in. That was the Bludhaven Police Department."

Aaron thinks to himself again. He then uncuffs Nightwing and brings him up to his feet.

"Get out of here. Before I change my mind."

Dick smiles and leaves, as Aaron thinks to himself.

The next morning, Aaron sits on a car with two coffees in hand. Dick then shows up, stretching and yawning from last night.

"You look exhausted, Grayson." Aaron says.

"Yeah, the docks were very lively last night. I'm surprised you're not tired, Cash." Dick replies, grabbing the other coffee.

"I'm used to late night's like that. But then again, I'm not a vigilante." Aaron says with a smile.

Dick spits out his coffee in shock.

"You know?"

"I'll admit, it sounded like a stretch. But Dick Grayson tells me to go to the docks, but all I find is the vigilante, Nightwing, with my partner nowhere in sight. And I remembered that Dick Grayson has a saving people's problem, so I put two and two together."

"So, where do we go from here?"

"Your secret is safe with me, if that's what you're asking."

"Why?"

Aaron puts down his coffee and looks at Dick.

"You know, I always believed in what Batman was doing. He made Gotham a better place, even if people don't want to admit it. Bludhaven wasn't as lucky, it didn't have a hero to protect it. You're a good man, Grayson, this city needs you and Nightwing."

Dick smiles and nods.

"And you are going to need someone to watch your back. Someone that can keep you honest and make sure you never lose your way."

"Do I need to get you a costume?" Dick jokingly asks.

"Not a chance in hell."

The two laugh, as a new form of their partnership is made.
