Did I hit too hard?
Le Yuxin had this thought come to mind, but immediately dismissed it.
Isn't this a great opportunity for advocacy and education? No matter if you're a commoner or an offspring of a high-ranking official, as long as you commit wrongdoing, you'll receive severe punishment just the same. When Yin Yinyin chose a scapegoat to play the role of Ding the Governor's relative, it was surely with this in mind.
Similarly, hitting someone, whether Le Yuxin beats an ordinary person or a high-ranking official's child, the effect is completely different.
Beating an ordinary person only makes others fear the power of the Statistical Department; but beating a high-ranking official's child allows the people to see this group of lofty meat-eaters also have a helpless stance of lying in mud, thus making them think 'so these dignitaries are just so-so'.
Further, it's like saying even lords and princes aren't inherently noble!
