Synopsis
A series of choices can make the most blessed of events, or the direst of consequences. Can what was once broken be fixed completely and not let the regrets seep out in the open? Can a king, who lost everything, regain back what was his? Will the choices he makes this time redeem him for good, or doom himself and along with the others? Disclaimer: I do not own Fire Emblem: Awakening and the various sources I have compiled for Arthur Pendragon's character.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Sup y'all! Cooked up another novel. I know, unbelievable, right? Well, I apologize my dear prospective readers as I've just decided to do this on a whim (not really) because I picked up playing Fire Emblem: Awakening in my 3DS (the ONLY Fire Emblem game I've played, sorry T^T) and knowing the plot, and my interest in Arthurian Legends and the Fate Franchise, I made a cross-over between the two. Y'all can read and pick up the clues on the chapter. Also, I'm just reminding that I'm not dropping any of my other fanfics as I still expect for my story to develop as I wanted it to be. Might start on making chapters soon. Anyways, here y'all go, and don't foget to review and comment your thoughts!

At a barkeep in a certain place.

Festivities are always the norm inside barkeeps despite the harsh reality of the threat of war that plagues upon Ylissean lands as men and women, well, mostly men, clank their mugs filled with mead and drank to their hearts' content, and the joyful atmosphere wouldn't be complete without stories, and more mead of course.

"Aye barkeep! Do you have any interesting stories for us to tell? Anything to shake off this terrible mead of yours hahaha!" A man boisterously laughed; his voice echoed inside despite the bustling noises of people having fun.

"Cheeky lad! If you don't want my drink, you better get the hell out!" The barkeep replied to the man as he insulted his craft, to which the man laughed as he shrugged the barkeep's words off. "But I think I might have something to tell ya," the barkeep smirked as he saw the man's eyes lit up and the man bellowed, "Oi! Shut up! The old man has a story!"

The voices that kept rambling inside quietened down as murmurs started going around. "The barkeep's going to tell a story!" "Shush, quiet down, will you? It's not often that the old man tells a story." And with that, the murmurs turn into silence as they waited for the old man to speak.

The barkeep waited for the crowd to quiet down and coughs, as he starts the story; "This tale speaks from a land far away, in the Kingdom of Camelot."

"What?! Do you mean?" A man called out in incredulity, only to be shot down by the glares of the people around him, putting back his words as he stayed silent and allowed the barkeep to continue.

"The Kingdom of Camelot is a great kingdom, a kingdom of kindness and compassion under the rule of Uther Pendragon, Camelot's previous king. His reign made Camelot prosper, yet conflict brewed when news of his death spread throughout the kingdom. Many were saddened by it, and more grew suspicious of his unnatural death, but the more pressing matters lie due to the fact the next-in-line for the throne should be the king's progenitor, yet the child had vanished, and with the disappearance of the heir, the king's brother Lot took the throne and ruled the kingdom with an iron fist, in fear of the child's return because of a sword stuck in a stone that earns the kingdom's curiosity. They say that Merlin, King Uther's friend and adviser, cast a spell of righteousness so that whoever pulls the sword out of the rock is the true ruler of Camelot and thus be crowned king, and it happened when a young boy pulled the sword, Caliburn, out from the rock and was dubbed the true heir to the throne. With many hardships, the boy, now a man, wrested away the throne from his evil uncle and sat upon the royal throne as the King of Camelot, and his name is Arthur. Arthur Pendragon."

The crowed were amazed at the barkeep's words, but he doesn't stop there. "Arthur's reign brought back the glory of Camelot shining brighter than ever before, defending his people from invaders with the legendary Sword of Promised Victory, Excalibur, along with his trusted Knights of The Round Table: Lancelot, the strongest Knight. Gawain, the knight whose power passes with the sun, Percival, the one with the spear, Tristan, the Knight of Love. Agravain, the Knight of Truth. Kay and Bedivere, Knights of Loyalty, Lucan, Gareth, and many more that helped King Arthur defend the lands of Camelot. But the kingdom was struck a heavy blow when Arthur learnt of the love between the Queen, Guinevere, and Lancelot, his trusted knight. As the scandal wounded his heart deeply, a Knight of the Round Table, Mordred, sought his chance to rebel under the king's reign, and dealt him a mortal blow that would no doubt, kill him. As the battle eclipsed over Camelot and its people, the consequences of civil war brought them countless problems and knowing this, their enemies took advantage of the chaos and struck Camelot, destroying the kingdom which the Knights swore to protect, only to fail. The kingdom was gone, and the king's body was nowhere to be found again, or so the stories tell." The barkeep ended his story with a shrug which cause the crowd to groan and complain, unsatisfied that the story wasn't completely true at all.

Hearing groans and complaints all round, the barkeep shouted, "Aye ya runts! You asked for a story and that's what ya get! Now pay up, because the drinks AREN'T on the house!" He grinned, putting his hand out, making a "give me your money" gesture to the people, resulting in more groans and complaints.

Such is the everyday occurrence in the barkeep, in which the people all soon forget the story and went back to their merry way of celebrating: drinking more mead. Again.

As the bustling noise resumed, a hooded figure walked inside the barkeep and sat on a stool near the owner. Seeing this, the old man welcomed the lad. "Welcome, lad! What can I get ya? I don't think you're from around here, eh?" The figure pulled down their hood to reveal a handsome blonde man with green eyes, wearing a leather armor over a shirt as he politely smiled, putting down the sword strapped to his waist to the side. "Well, can you get me some water and food, please. And yes, I'm fairly new as I've arrived in this town minutes ago, and since hunger got me, I went to the nearest place I could find, which is yours," he said. "Ah, don't need to be formal with me boy! I'll get what you need, and what you need other than water and good food, is a drink! It's on the house lad." The barkeep smiled, to which the man replied with a "Thank you". Moments later, the barkeep came back with water, food, and drinks for the newcomer. As he gave it to the man, he asked, "I've never caught yer name lad." To which the man replied, "Arthur. Call me Arthur." Arthur smiled, to which the barkeep returned and held out his hand for a handshake to which Arthur did the same.

"Alright, Arthur. Welcome to Southtown!" He grins.
