Time passed and Vox's party arrived at Amazon Lily. There, Luffy was already sitting there contemplating something with Rayleigh talking to him. Although Vox could not hear what Rayleigh was saying, he had a clue at what it was.
Law had already left as he did not need to look after Luffy like in the original. Zapping next to them, Vox greeted the startled duo.
"Hey Rayleigh, Luffy, how are you both doing?"
"Ahhhhhh! Vox! Thank you very much for the help saving Ace! Shishishishishi" Luffy grinned and laughed with his usual trademark smile.
"All is good. Anyway, what are your plans now that Ace is safe?" Vox asked, although already knowing his answer.
"I want to regroup with my friends and go to the new world to become the Pirate King!"
'Dragons son alright. Stupidity does run in the family.' Vox shook his head at his replay.
"Why don't you train for the next two years? Who knows, maybe you'll grow strong m." Vox said to try to bait him.
"I am strong!"
"There will be a lot of meat."
"Oke, whe do we start?"
Rayleigh and Vox were speechless 'this is too much, even for being dragons son.' Rayleigh and Vox both though the same thing.
Not long after the ship also came there as everyone came out, Leaving both Luffy and Rayleigh flabbergasted. For the entirely different reasons that is.
"WOAAAHH!! THAT'S SO COOL!" Luffy shouted as he looked at the monster cards, thos that looked less humanoid.
'So many different beasts I have never seen' It was hard for him, who roamed all the world, to not recognize species. But here they are.
'Whatever, he is on our side.' Shaking his head out of his thoughts, Everyone started to converse with each other. As it became time to eat, the bushes rustled and out came 3 woman, of which one was a beauty while the others were half snakes. It was hard for someone to find a snake attractive...
Vox, deciding it is better to save himself some braincells to what will probably happen next, he told Rayleigh to talk in private a bit.
The two of them walked in the forest and after making sure no one was listening on their conversation. Vox immediately said what was on his mind.
"What is on Raftle that the WG want to hide it no matter the cost."
A bit surprised, Rayleigh though caught of guard, expected it. Vox is not like Luffy who is a pirate for the sake of an adventure.
"The missing piece. Interpret it how you want, but if you can't even reach Raftle, you are not worthy of knowing it. So go there yourself and find out." After Rayleigh said that he prepared to leave but was once again stopped by from leaving.
"Fine, but do fulfill your deal. The Haki training, the true ones and not the fake ass condense." Vox said a bit annoyed. His Haki was truly never at the level of an Admiral. Not because of quantity, no, he had a lot of it. But the quality was lacking. This mostly went for Armament Haki as Observation Haki is his strong point with his devil fruit. If he could properly train his Armament to it's potential, he would truly reach highst previously bot possible.
"Oh, Haki training is something to explore yourself and get the best methos for your fighting style. Defensive, Offensive, support. etc. Your Observation needs no questioning because of your Fruit. It will strengthen it passively and it is at the strongest you can get it. It should not take you long to reach the state to see the future if you actually focused on it." Rayleigh laughed after seeing Vox's face grumble.
"Hey, I am a busy man, I train it, but I have other things to so." Vox complained seeing the smug look on his face.
"Anyway, believe it or not, Armament Haki has many, many different forms of training and each training adds a slight characteristic to it, which will improve with the training. Let's take for example the basics of basics, condensing the Haki. Aka, Spirit. It acts as an armor and strengthens the body, making your hit also get harder."
"Get to the point..."
"I was if you let me finish.. anyway, You can use different methods to train Haki, you can do it like how clothes are made. Have the Haki form tiny threads and create a layer of cloth around your body, then you keep stacking these layers for as long and as much as you can." Taking a deep breathe Rayleigh let his arm turn black, coating it with Haki.
"This method is great as a defensive Haki, training this means you priority is defense, Next is a combination of it and the basic, condensation. Which makes the Haki so sturdy that it is very hard to destroy or get through it. Most Haki trainers use this combination, but the true experts don't or they add their own twists to it. Garp for example does both and has 2 more methods of training to it that makes his Haki training very effective as both offense and defense."
Vox was in awe at how stupid he is. It felt like a door just opened for him as ideas rushed to his head. Clothes? Condense? What bullcrap is this, Have you ever had seen Kevlar and how it is made? or the composition of Carbon fiber? They really based their training on just clothes? Where is the imagination!? The planet! the water, the stars, the universe!
"It seems like you already know the truth behind Haki training, Sometimes the hardest thing is just right under our nose, but we don't see it." Rayleigh gave a chuckle and left back to where the others were.
Vox not wanting to was time, immediately started thinking of methods to add special properties to his Haki, he could even go batshit crazy and add the properties of lightning to it.
"No wonder Haki Haki is in this world... it is to keep balance between it and the devil fruits.. No matter how strong a Haki user is, if they fight a devil fruit user with equal Haki, they will lose.. So someone, or something gave Haki as a way to gain special powers, but these idiots think so basic of it." Vox murmered to himself. Ignoring the fact that he too was using the same method.
Vox then looked at the air, it felt empty, but it was not. Using his observation to the max, he could see how the air behaves and moves. Doing the same with the water he got image in his head for how it behaves as well.
Knowing the composition of water made it even easier for Vox. Who grinned like a devil.
"Guess am gonna be the first fucking Avatar here." Vox then decided to create a manual to train the Haki. He wanted to create a manual for each element and one for him and his family that could use many elements. Ofcourse this was all theory and needs to be tested, but Vox was certain he was not wrong.
After a bit of testing he already found a problem, if he does that, he ultimately gets rid of his Haki for a power. Even though it is basic, Haki is very powerful in it's basic form. Using it for a power just seems like a waste.
Vox then racked his brain to find solutions and improvements, but it was easier said then done.
"If I use the Spring as a basis and implement that with the Wind version, it should enhance the speed and power if used correctly... But the defense is gone..What if I add needles to it, as it is Haki, just as wind version, it should deal a ton of damage...What about using th-"
"Master, everyone is waiting for you to come eat." Vox was a bit startled as he did not pay attention to his surrounding. He did not even realize she was sitting next to him looking at his face.
"How long have you been here Reniares?"
"About 20 minutes, you looked so cute when you were focusing so much. It is rare to see you so excited about something." She smiled as she slowly stood up extending her hand to the dumbfounded Vox.
'If it was an enemy, I would be dead...I should do this at a secure location.' Vox though as he shook his head to get rid of his expression and took her hand and stood up.
Walking to where the others were, Vox felt very happy. although some were missing, everyone else was sitting at a table and waiting for him to come sit. Well, almost everyone.
"Ahhh! this is so good! Hancock, give me that piece of meat there!"
"Yes dear! Ah, did I say dear!? I mean yes husband."
But he did not let it get to him. He was in a great mood now and he was happy to see that his family was respecting him so much, He knows that respect is not given, or taken. But earned. Seeing them like this, he knows that he must have done something good with all the fucked up shit in the dark.
The are not saviors, not heroes, just a man, a family with a dream. They will kill to achieve it, they will manipulate to get it. They will steal to have it. Their dream will be achieved. No matter how the world sees them after, murders, killers. It does not matter.
"What matters is that we have our family with us and we will do everything to have others have a chance to have a family as well. Maybe we will not be liked, maybe we will not be loved. But one thing is certain." Vox murmured to himself, which only a select few hear.
"We will be remembered in history." Vox smiled as he realized that just a heavy burden was taking from his back. He does not know what or why. But he does not and will not regret his actions. His goal, their goal is something worth fighting for.
Rayleigh was surprised but he kept his expression, the one who sat next to him, Reniares smiled brightly. She then stood up and said to everyone at the table.
"Let's eat, thanks for the food."
"Thanks for the food." Everyone said in Unison, making Hancock blush slightly while Luffy looked at the confused.
"Aren't we already eating?" He said while tilting his head a bit with a giant piece of meat in his mouth.
