Elite—this word is truly fraught with contradictions. In theory, so-called elites are the crème de la crème of humanity, the kind who shine no matter where they're thrown, possessing a dazzling halo wherever they are placed. They believe themselves to be the sharpest minds among all, and most of the time, others think so too.
But then again, although elites aren't exactly low-maintenance, in the face of the apocalypse, these high-maintenance types really do tend to burn through resources at an alarming rate.
