Shen Yi Nian was savoring her barbecued mutton when her phone rang.
She wiped her hand with a tissue and fumbled for her phone. Seeing the name written on the phone screen made her pause.
The meat in her mouth remained unchewed.
"Nian Nian, who is it?" Gu Xin Ye leaned forward to peek at her friend's phone. Unfortunately, before Gu Xin Ye could see anything, Shen Yi Nian stood up with the phone in her hand.
"I–" Shen Yi Nian looked nervous. "I'm going to answer this phone call." Her eyes fell on the barbecued skewers. "Don't finish everything off. Leave some for me."
Without waiting for her friends to reply, Shen Yi Nian ran off while pressing her phone to her chest. Once she was farther away, Shen Yi Nian slid her finger on the screen.
Shen Yi Nian pressed the phone against her ear with her heart beating fast.
"Hello," Shen Yi Nian spoke.
"Hi," Li Jun Xuan spoke. His voice sounded deeper through the phone.
Hearing his voice made Shen Yi Nian's ear turn slightly hotter.
