Chapter 240 - Out of This World

(A.N. Before anyone tries to correct me, ALL 'Mythicals' are going to be referred to as Legendary pokemon in this fic, as the ONLY real difference I found betwen the two is that Legendary pokemon are available in the base game, while Mythical pokemon have to be acquired through an event or something. And even if that wasn't the case, the people of the pokemon world wouldn't really have a classification system for them since they have never actually been able to study any of them before.)

"Deoxys..." I muttered quietly in awe of the Legendary floating in the air before me, even as it too peered down at me intensely.

The air seemed to vibrate as we stared at one another, and I could feel that it was equal parts intrigued and cautious of me. And while it didn't feel at all like a normal pokemon, I could still somewhat understand what it was trying to say.

The tendrils that made up it's right arm began to squirm as they shifted unnaturally, changing until the tendril turned into an actual arm that ended in a hand identical to my own.

It's intention plain, I reached out my hand to it while Deoxys did the same, in what was obviously a handshake.

"!!!"

"STAND BACK!" Mewtwo roared as he suddenly Teleported between myself and Deoxys, while Lucario as well moved faster than I could follow to stand between the two of us.

"What's wrong?" I asked urgently, thinking we were being attacked or something.

"That..... THING is not of this world!" Mewtwo stated, his entire body radiating aura so powerful, that the entire island literally began to shudder and quake.

"It has no aura.... Its like it's not even there!" Lucario added tensely, feeling more anxious than I had ever felt him be before.

"I can feel it just fine..." I told him, but neither seemed to interested in listening to me, especially when Deoxys, freaked out by their sudden hostility, quickly retreated as it flew back up into the air.

"You will not escape me!" Mewtwo roared as he gave chase.

"It's not dangerous!" I tried to tell him, but either Mewtwo didn't hear or he wasn't listening to me as he went after the other psychic Legendary.

"You won't get away from me!" He roared while channeling his aura into the grass type, before numerous thorny roots shot up from the ground to attack Deoxys and Wrap around it.

"..."

Deoxys wasn't even fazed though, as the thorny roots passed right through it's body like it wasn't even there due to the unique molecular makeup of it's body. So long as the attacks didn't hit it's core, Deoxys SHOULD be fine... Maybe.

"HMMMMMM!"

As if to prove me right, Deoxys suddenly radiated power as an oppressive force bore down onto the entire island, forcing Lucario and I to our knees.

"G-Gravity?!" Lucario exclaimed in disbelief.

"Deoxys is...AT LEAST Legendary grade...." I groaned back to him, earning me an incredulous look from my partner.

"You know what that....THING is?!" Lucario exclaimed in shock, even as the Gravity around us intensified to the point that we were forced to our hands and knees.

"..."

"Really?" I asked him despite our situation.

"WHAT?!" He snarled back as the Gravity steadily increased.

"You're going to be a racist now?"

"..."

"I am NOT a racist!" Lucario stated firmly, before straining his neck as he looked up to where Deoxys and Mewtwo were still battling, though Mewtwo was definitely moving slower now as he too was affected by the increaed Gravity.

"Whatever that thing is, I cannot feel it's aura in the slightest, nor can I understand what it is saying, it's intentions, or it's very nature. When I look at it, all I can see is something that cannot, SHOULD NOT, exist."

"..."

"I never thought about it like that..." I muttered as Mewtwo and Deoxys moved further away with their battle, removing the effects of Gravity so that Lucario and I could stand once more.

While rising to my feet I thought about what exactly Deoxys was to Lucario, who was always so calm and collected, but there was a reason for that. Lucario was ALWAYS aware of our surroundings through his aura sense, and knew whenever someone untrustworthy was around just by them being within our proximity. Encountering something he couldn't properly sense for the first time in his life was probably downright terrifying for him.

"Listen, I won't get into the whole story right now, but Deoxys is NOT a threat. It's been here for over a hundred thousand years already, so if anything was going to happen, then it would have already." I told him, which seemed to make Lucario calm down slightly.

"If you say so partner... So what do we do?"

Even as he asked that, Lucario and I both looked up to see Deoxys and Mewtwo still duking it out in the sky above us. Well, Mewtwo was duking it out, Deoxys was still just trying to get away. With each passing moment though, it was being forced to use more and more of it's strength to do so in the face of Mewtwo's relentless pursuit of it.

For example, when Mewtwo proceeded to summon a thunderstorm that rained lightning down onto the area around Deoxys. Instead of dodging the attacks, Deoxys sent out a powerful pulse of psychic energy that completely dispelled the storm clouds and lightning.

"It is powerful." Lucario said in observation.

"And Mewtwo is no slouch either." I added while comparing the Mewtwo when we first met to the one battling before us.

Even though back at Mt Moon Mewtwo had seemed overwhelmingly powerful and borderline unstoppable, it was obvious that the training Mew and I had him do helped to refine his attacks while giving him some much needed variety. Deoxys meanwhile, though still weakened, had been able to hold it's own against Rayquaza at full power. And as far as powerscaling went, I wouldn't hesitate to say that Rayquazaa was one of, if not the strongest of Mew's creations as the defender of the planet itself.

There was no way the current Mewtwo was equivalent to Rayquaza in strength. Maybe in like, a hundred years or something, but not right now.

At the moment though the weakened Deoxys and the infant Mewtwo, appeared to be almost evenly matched against one another as they battled it out, with Mewtwo going heavily on the offensive while Deoxys was focusing on trying to get away.

It only fought back when it needed to, such as when Mewtwo used the move Blast Burn to fill the sky with flames since Deoxys's body wasn't like a normal body. But to keep the flames from hitting it, Deoxys used what was basically a super powered Psyshock to not only deflect the flames, but also to try and hit Mewtwo. Only, Mewtwo was not there.

Taking advantage of the moment that Deoxys was using Psyshock, Mewtwo Teleported right behind Deoxys while a mass of water gathered between his hands.

"Taste this!" Mewtwo snarled, before unleashing a pressurized blast of water so powerful, that I'm pretty sure he could have punched a hole through an entire mountain range with it.

"!!!"

I could feel the alarm from Deoxys as it used Protect to try and shield itself, right as it was blasted back down at Lucario and I.

*BOOOOOOOOM!*

The entire island shuddered as Deoxys hit it, reducing it to nothing more than a pile of rock and shattered trees in the middle of the ocean, which I was only protected from thanks to Regirock coming out of it's pokeball to shield us at the very last second.

"Sorry about that, and thanks." I told it gratefully.

"Beep boop." Regirock replied, while I glanced at the crater that was rapidly filling with water from both the Hydro Cannon and the ocean. And in the middle of the crater was Deoxys, missing several parts of it's body, but not actually injured since it's core was intact.

Not for long though, as Mewtwo rush in as little more than a streak of light as he moved in for the kill.

I didn't even have to think as I stepped forward to put myself between Mewtwo and Deoxys, making him stop in his tracks as the glowing sphere of psychic energy paused less than an inch from my face.

"Step aside Ace Ketchum."

"No."

Mewtwo narrowed his eyes at my defiance before glancing behind me at Deoxys, who I could feel watching us intently while it's body reformed.

"That THING is something completely unnatural, even by the standards of those not of this world. It is like a virus, and cannot be allowed to exist and possibly pose a threat to the inhabitants of this world." Mewtwo growled.

"Funny. I was gonna same thing about YOU." I snapped back.

"!!!"

Mewtwo looked as if I had actually slapped him, his eyes widening almost comically despite the situation.

"The circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant." I told him, causing his eyes to narrow once more.

"It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are." He said, finishing the quote I once told him, prompting him to dispel the energy he had gathered while also releasing the tension in his body. Though he still kept a firm look on Deoxys.

"I still wish to know where you heard that." He said.

"And I said I'd tell you when you have decided what you intend to do with the gift that is your life." I replied, before turning and pointing to Deoxys.

"Regardless of the hows and whys, I know for a fact that Deoxys did not come here with bad intentions. Not only that, but he has been here for over a hundred thousand years already. If he intended to do something, or his precense was going to have a negative impact on this planet, it would have happened already."

"..."

Mewtwo was silent as he looked between Deoxys and I analytically, seemingly debating on whether or not Deoxys should be trusted.

"How about this..." I started while fighting the urge to roll my eyes, before pulling out an Ultra ball. "If I can catch him, then you won't have anything else to say."

"..."

"Very well." Mewtwo relented. After all, if I could catch Deoxys, then it meant that he could be controlled, plus we would be able to keep an eye on him.

Now that the two Legendary pokemon were no longer trying to kill each other, though that had only really been Mewtwo, I slowly approached Deoxys despite the caution it was showing it.

"Its ok. They're not going to try and hurt you anymore." I told him, keeping my voice gentle and soothing while also projecting calming aura towards him.

"..."

"I'm a friend." I said slowly, offering my free hand to him.

"Hmmm?" Deoxys hummed, making Lucario and Mewtwo tense up slightly, but I just ignored them since he was just asking what I meant.

"It means that I help you, and you help me. If you come with me, then I can help you find your other cores. Not only that, but I can also help hide you from those who want yo attack you, like Rayquaza."

"!!!"

Deoxys looked at me in alarm at my offer, before his eyes narrowed suspiciously.

"Hmmm?"

"Well, if you come with me then I can help you get stronger, and you would also occasionaly fight on my behalf." I explained to him.

Deoxys looked at me for several seconds, as if studying me, before also looking at Lucario and Mewtwo behind me, and then back to me. Finally, he transformed the tendrils that could be considered his right arm into a hand, just like before, and held it out to the hand I still had extended towards him.

Deoxys was strange to feel directly. None of the warmth of a living body, while also a strange earthy texture that reminded me of clay, or play-doh.

We shook briefly, before I held out the Ultra Ball to him, which Deoxys voluntarily reached out and pressed the button on to activate. He was then promptly sucked inside.

*Ding!*

The ball fell still atop my hand after a few quick jerks, indicating a successful capture of my newest Legendary pokemon.

"I guess I can say that this pokemon truly is out of this world, huh?" I said to Lucario, Mewtwo and Regirock, all three of which just stared at me while Nymble chirps played in the background.

"Tough crowd..." I grumbled irritably, while my partner just shook his head.

By this point the eastern horizon started to glow with the impending sunrise, indicating that night was pretty much over.

"We should probably head back now, before people come to investigate what all that noise was last night." I said while recalling Regirock.

"Indeed. I do not wish to be here when more humans arrive." Mewtwo stated with a nod, but not before adding, "I will also want to hear the entire story regarding that alien, Ace Ketchum. I know you know more about it than you mentioned before."

"Haaa..." I sighed in exasperation, before asking, "Can you wait until we return to Pallet town? I don't want to have to explain Deoxys like ten times to everyone."

"Very well." Mewtwo answered with a nod of his head. After all, we were already planning on leaving today to begin with since my pokemon more or less got their new moves down. Now all they needed to focus on was repetition and using them in battle.

With Mewtwo once more lifting us with his psychic power, the three of us flew through the pre-dawn air as we returned to Two Island, where we were surprised to find my pokemon already hard at work.

"What's going on here?" I asked Joy, who was supervising them alongside the old lady.

"Well, after you all left it was hard to get back to sleep, so I figured we can try to finish up the training a little bit early." She explained.

"Thank you." I told her with genuine appreciation.

We continued their training for a little bit longer, until it was time for breakfast, and then called an end to it.

"I've taught your pokemon all I can. Now it is up to their own continued effort after you leave." The old lady said as we prepared the meal.

"Thank you, for everything." I told her sincerely, despite the bad attitude she had when we first arrived. I couldn't blame her though after she explained why.

Apparently in recent years all the trainers that came to learn from here were mostly flunkies that just wanted to use the moves she knew as a shortcut to make their pokemon more powerful. It was because of this that she decided to stop training pokemon altogether since there didn't seem to be anyone else worth teaching.

It was nearly noon when we finished eating, and bid farewell to the onld lady while packing up our Capsules.

"Boy, just promise me that you'll put my moves to good use." She said as we prepared to leave.

"Of course I will." I promised her. What better use was there than taking on Champions and gods?

"I have found them." Mewtwo said suddenly, as he had been looking for the girls telepathically since we needed to pick them up as well.

"Alright then. Goodbye." I called to the old lady, right before our vision shifted and we were suddenly in an entirely different area.

"ACE?!" Dawn cried out when she saw us, while May and Chloe jumped up from the log they were sitting on, and the bushes nearby rustled loudly as Misty stumbled and fell forward, her shorts and bikini bottoms pulled down around her knees.

"OH COME ON!" Misty practically screamed, as she apparently tinkled all over herself.

"Poor, poor Misty..." I said while shaking my head in pity, and Joy hurried to help her. As she did so I glanced around and noted that we were someplace familiar.

"What are you doing here so soon?" May asked while Joy helped Misty clean up.

"Well, this and that happened." I replied vaguely, making the three of them narrow their eyes at me, even as they glanced at Mewtwo.

"I'll explain later, just so I'm not having to tell the same story like ten times. Trust me, it'll be worth the wait." I told them, which I knew only piqued their interest even more.

"What about you guys?" I asked them, to which they all beamed brightly.

"""We all got the Volcano Badge!""" Misty, May and Dawn declared as one, showing me their newly acquired Badges even as Misty was still basically bottomless.

"Nice~!" I whistled in appreciation. But then both Misty and May also held up a pokeball.

"I also got myself a Squirtle~!" May declared as she sent her new pokemon out.

"Squirtle squirt~!" Squirtle declared as it appeared, a flower adorning it's head.

"And I got a Wartortle!" Misty announced as she did the same.

"War~!" Her new pokemon also trilled, though this one had several flowers woven onto it's tail.

"Good job, both of you!" I said while looking over their new pokemon, both of which appeared to be female. Blastoise was going to LOVE that. Speaking of which...

"Come on out big guy!"

"BLAAAAAAAAST!"

Blastoise roared as he appeared this time, undoubtedly alerting the entire island to his presence even before he fired off a Hydro Pump into the sky.

"Blaaaaast?" Rumbled a voice from the interior of island, before several figures began making their way towards us.

Soon the girls and I were surrounded on all sides by Squirtle, Wartortle, and Blastoise, though they all focused on mine as they greeted him happily.

"Blastoise, blast!" Declared the big alpha boss of the island, my Blastoise's father, as he approached his son, pleased by his strength from the sound of it.

"Blast Blastoise, blast blast!" Blastoise answered excitedly, telling them all stories of the things we've done since the day he left. The same day I started my journey.

We hung out for a few hours as Blastoise reunited briefly with his family and friends, sharing stories and showing off the strength he had developed from our travels together. It was quickly made obvious his father was still stronger than him though, as shown when Blastoise tried showing off his newly learned Hydro Cannon, only for his father to put out the same power with a mere Hydro Pump. But now Blastoise had a new goal to work towards.

As the sun started to make its way to the horizon though, we decided it was time to say goodbye so we could head to Pallet town.

"Blaaaaast!" He declared, saying goodbye to everyone before I recalled him to his pokeball.

Once that was done, we all gathered around Mewtwo as he prepared to use Teleport. In an instant our surroundings shifted yet again, and I found myself in the most familiar place in all of Kanto.

"I'm home..."
